I just looked at player stats from a battle my total be was 4.3 . But there a guy who was at br 5.3 and at least two at 5.o what’s the Sense of a battle rating if I’m going up against guys that are a full one point over me and it’s not like the guy
Gad just the one 5.3 plane all of his where 5.o or 5.3. and then they are all stacked on one team. Can some one make this make Sense.
Span of battle is ±1.0 BR. So 4.3 can meet up to 5.3 rated players.
Air arcade has a special rule: if one plane in lineup is 5.7, and the others are 5.0 or lower, it counts as 5.3 basically. (You are shown this in hangar and scoreboard anyway.)
So you could meet up to 5.7 planes.
But before you get upset: Battle ratings in arcade mean little. Differences between 1.3 ratings are slim around BR 4.3.
And in arcade you can put 1 5.7 in with a 5.0 line up and get a 5.3 line up. It’s especially obnoxious with the premium Mig-21S/SPSKs getting R3Rs and R-60s into matches fighting 7.7s
The game has always allowed 1.0 br spread between lowest player and highest player in a match, this is not unbalanced generally speaking. TL:DR skill issue
At this point, I think it would be better to just drop the averaging thing altogether and just make the entire game based on the highest rated vehicle in your line up be used to determine the BR used by the matchmaker to set battles.
It seems to be a leftover mechanic from the 20 tier days they just never reverted/changed.
I can see/understand it’s purpose in the system, but that changed before I even started playing almost 12 years ago.
The other thing is single plane line ups(a minimum of 3 vehicles for ANY line up in order to go into battle[sans Air RB ofc]) and giving some planes lower BRs than they are listed to have.
Why would a 5.7 be given a 5.3 rating if you use it alone? . . . this one really makes no sense to me.
Give the vehicles Battle Ratings(which can vary by mode . . that’s fine), but then use them the same way they are listed in the tech trees for whatever mode the player selects to play.
Keep it simple and get rid of all these opportunities for “manipulating/exploiting” the current system.
Because the averaging and BR reductions . . . that’s really all they are good for.
Play what you got and run what ya brung . . . . simple
Dodo_Dud - sorry, was not aimed at you directly, just wanted to throw this out there
and I stood on your back to do it . . . … ☻
It is no longer the case.
I think there are still some vehicles that can get away with that, but not 100% . . .
was that part of the most recent change?? . . it’s been a while and I forget.
I know that change was a step in the right direction, but it still baffles me why the averaging
thing is still in game . . . it serves no useful purpose.
