BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

Its a unique Harrier variant that’s artificially buffed to be better than it should, and that people were explicitly asking for? You realise no-one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to buy it right?

I am being held hostage by Gaijin

Will Gaijin go bankrupt if they make a quality model for it? I just don’t get you. And what’s stopping them from making a British pilot model with an authentic helmet?

They’ve had one in the files unused for ages, but there are a couple of things that don’t seem right like having a Mk.1/Mk.3 helmet’s visor rail on a much later Mk.4A helmet, and a rotary-wing helmet’s boom mic that normally wouldn’t be fitted on an FJ helmet

Harrier Fuel dumping is now working on the dev server, looks good, but has its issues:

Was reading bug reports (mainly for Harriers and Tornados) and saw that the Sea Harrier HUD is “Fixed” as of Hornet’s Sting (Hornet’s shit injection more like)
Can anyone confirm the current status of the Shars’ HUD? I haven’t played in 6 months so I’m not sure

They got the “proper” HUD but there’s still issues like the gunsight and the CCRP markers not working

Actually might be more than that. Matrix found some good reference footage. Turns out 90% of the new HUD is wrong. Quite a major internal report for it submitted I believe

Come on now.

That was the impression I always got. There is loads wrong that needs adjusting

Only explanation as to why it’s still an unusable buggy mess is because they had to start again

And will take longer to fix than the real development time of the F15

I’ve got a problem — I can’t out-turn a Fishbed in the FRS.1 in Sim. He just hangs on my tail with no effort. Any practical tips on what to do about it?

give this a try. Can work.

Maintain your speed above 350kts and never use VIFF below 300kt. Using about 30% nozzle when needed.

If the mig gets on your tail, switch to a spiral climb at about 45 to 60 degrees and the Mig should start to fall behind

From there you can reset the fight on your terms

I’ll bring it over here:

How do you use it?

The max range I can get out of the ACM on the FA2 is 19km, not 37km

ACM mode, use the change scale binding to flip through the modes. Isn’t 37KM as ACM used to be hard capped for all radars at 19km or unlimited when only measuring velocity (PDV).

CAS20 isn’t just ACM @ 37KM its also the scan pattern, what we have is the scan pattern not the range figure.

Ah I see, this is what I was confused about.

CAS20 = 37km but we are hard capped to 19km for ACM

Though dont some aircraft get ACM lock ranges greater than 19km these days? I recall something about the Su-27 or Su-30 having greater ranges?

They get 10km acm and 20km hmd for radar. technically all ir acm/hmd are hard capped to 30km and are capable of targeting all the way out to there

That might be what im recalling
