BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

ACM mode, use the change scale binding to flip through the modes. Isn’t 37KM as ACM used to be hard capped for all radars at 19km or unlimited when only measuring velocity (PDV).

CAS20 isn’t just ACM @ 37KM its also the scan pattern, what we have is the scan pattern not the range figure.

Ah I see, this is what I was confused about.

CAS20 = 37km but we are hard capped to 19km for ACM

Though dont some aircraft get ACM lock ranges greater than 19km these days? I recall something about the Su-27 or Su-30 having greater ranges?

They get 10km acm and 20km hmd for radar. technically all ir acm/hmd are hard capped to 30km and are capable of targeting all the way out to there

That might be what im recalling

And here i pull up with:

I thought I recalled a few aircraft getting ACM modes greater than 19km.

Almost all of the Su’s have 20km ACM modes, makes those high alt shots with R27’s easy

You’re confusing hmd and acm

You know what, yeah lmao

Yeah mig-29 and su27 manual states 10km limit for acm, and doesnt mention a limit for hmd so they implemented hmd as 20km.

Honestly its so good to have 20km for it, made my Su-30SM more fun to play

I mean for me it’s doesn’t really matter since ir hmd has up to 30km anyways (it says 10km on the interface but since it’s ir it can lock all the way up to 30km). I like locking in ir then switching to pd for surprise factor

Seems like the Sea Eagle is coming this update for the Hawk and maybe we could get it added to the Shars
