B-52H and Tu-95M problem

Gaijin doesn’t have any idea for the bombers since introduction of higher tier jets. They have been neglegted in this stage for many, many years. Then came the structural nerf, longer after that possibilty to detonate bombs and till this day they are in this weird place.

I honestly think that the first thing that should be done in comple redesign of targets you can bomb in Air RB. Make it bigger, add more variety and overall quantity and definitely a structural buff for bombers is needed so they don’t disintigrate after short 20mm bust.

Strategic bombers are high high in the air before coming to the target at full speed you are compering a game to real life.

Sure war thunder is realistic in some ways but it is not 1 to 1 compered to real life

Good point also Vulcan on the B52 in my opinion should get a buff to the range sure people can intercept from front on B52 but it’s still nice to have more effective protection

Another change that could help is give them long range weapons

B-52H can carry:
AGM-158A JASSM (mach 0.9, warhead size up 500 kg, range 370km )

AGM-158B JASSM-ER (same as A just longer range)

AGM-154 JSOW

Tu-95M can carry:

Kh-101( mach 970 km/h warhead size 400-800kg, range 3500km max)

Kh-555(mach 800km/h, warhead size 500 kg, range 3000km)

Now gaijin can limit and nerf those weapons in range and count of how many can it carry

B-52H:
AGM-154 50+ irl (gaijin can limit to 15 or less)
AGM-158A/B 20 irl (gaijin can limit 5+ or less)

Tu-95M:
Kh-555 6 irl (no need to limit but disabler pairing them with 101s)

Kh-101 14 irl (gaijin can limit to 5 or less)

They can later add a tech tree version like the B-52H (Late) and Tu-95M (Late) with more advanced weapons. Similiar to the A-10s

Gaijin already stated that strategic bombers won’t be in the tech tree and only through events.

Wait… where?? but there is already a few in the TT.

Was in the QA with BVVD a few months back.

Ah, that one… didn’t watch it because everyone was really mad about it. but is he 100% sure we will never see a modern strategic bomber in the TT anymore?

And there would be a ground radar detecting the aproaching bomber formation and place the scrambled interceptors at intercept path so that they could effectively intercept said bomber formation, so at the very least at the same altitude. not to mention other, ground based air defenses.

but saclos range is what? 15 km’s… while if you climb to 6k meters you can drop the guided bombs from 25+ km away or more… add the ECM and b-52 will stand a chance and since the gnss/gps guided bombs only attack a static point in game getting kills wont be easy but bombers will have a chance at game…

Horrid. Before bombers reach tank battlefield, they become test target for nord, rb05, aim9b, sparrow and cannons.

Wait for B52J with an AESA radar.

I simply can’t use the tail mingun on the B-52 for some reason. I’ve changed all the gunnery controls and nothing works. However, I can use the gunners perfectly fine on the TU-95M without any problems. Does anyone have a miracle solution?
Initially, I thought it was a bug since the aircraft could only be tested in “test flight,” but I see that’s not the case.

They would be fine as a gimmick if they:

  • flew well and didn’t have whatever cursed hot air balloon flight model they currently have
  • had the ECM
  • radar turret for the B52
  • increased auto turret range for all bombers except maybe 1.0 ones

You need to turn on camera from gunners sight
IDK how such an obvious bug slipped through since most people who know about that setting have it off

so say “cold war interceptors made to intercept cold war bombers are intercepting cold war bombers?” so gaijin make br historical? in this perspective the tiger “ww2” tank why fight cold war vehicles?
