Wait for B52J with an AESA radar.
I simply can’t use the tail mingun on the B-52 for some reason. I’ve changed all the gunnery controls and nothing works. However, I can use the gunners perfectly fine on the TU-95M without any problems. Does anyone have a miracle solution?
Initially, I thought it was a bug since the aircraft could only be tested in “test flight,” but I see that’s not the case.

They would be fine as a gimmick if they:
- flew well and didn’t have whatever cursed hot air balloon flight model they currently have
- had the ECM
- radar turret for the B52
- increased auto turret range for all bombers except maybe 1.0 ones
You need to turn on camera from gunners sight
IDK how such an obvious bug slipped through since most people who know about that setting have it off

so say “cold war interceptors made to intercept cold war bombers are intercepting cold war bombers?” so gaijin make br historical? in this perspective the tiger “ww2” tank why fight cold war vehicles?

A half decent QRA aircraft, that isnt going to change much. Read the second comment in this thread
Kinda ok I think. The bombs are hard to aim cuz you’re so big and fat you’ll just get shot by a 105. You have plenty of chaff and flares and stuff, but obviously they won’t stop a gun SPAA with good aim. I expect the Tu 95 will be better because the bomb is big; the B52 carries a lot but it’s only good for 2000 lb carpet bombing. So kinda situational depending on what people have spawned in. Also like someone said you spawn low so you’re an easy target for any players playing CAP.
The only “but” I’ll throw in there. It does have a Thermal Tpod. So it can find appropriate targets quite easily and then use CCRP to perfectly nail said spot. Perhaps only dropping some of the bomb load rather than all.
This then allows for somewhat accurate carpet bombing, which no other heavy bomber can really do until you get to BRs where GBUs are just a better tactic
True, but you would have to be pretty high, right? So if they move a tiny bit it won’t do anything. I guess for popular sniping spots or smth it might work well.
Yeah, but it beats dropping somewhat blind/guessing where to drop.
I have done nothing but murder B52s and TU95 in a lightning for the last three days.
I have never had so much fun and im in the worst of the strategic bomber interceptors.
If they were lower id just be abusing them in a canberra, WT forces them to be giant missile magnets.

The B-52H need to go down to 7.7 Br., get it’s ECM (probably will be added later on anyways), and spawn at 35,000 ft. In no way should it be facing off against 9.7 mach jets that are at 40,000 ft in under a minute of the match, it’s survivability is abysmal.

Yeah and napalm was made to burn troops but players in WT use it to flip tanks, like what’s your point you can’t balance the game and make it be 1 to 1 ratio realistic
it was made as a cheaper general incendiary. primarily to torch buildings.

certain bombers do perfectly fine within their respective eras BR so it is doable
the B52 we have in game is a lot newer than the interceptors it sees too btw and has countermeasures that werent even thought of yet.
