Awarding kills for players diving into the ground?

The game should award a kill when an enemy crashes into the ground, especially if you are locked and missiles away. 3 games today now, I have had good lock and launch and they go straight to the dirt to avoid giving away the kill. Including chasing someone back to base, launched on them, they rolled over and dove right into a mountain.

This has been a long standing issue, and should have been addressed years ago.

It was addressed years ago. Players didn’t like it.

Manoeuvre kills should have been fixed ages ago, it’s incredibly silly that this is still an issue.

It’s silly but not surprising

wouldn’t the best way for this to be something like this?
(Bob being the person that crashed)

If <5km (10km for 10.0+) to bob. Reward “Kill” to closest player
If bob has been damaged (Hit), Reward shooter for kill
If bob’s been critically damaged, Reward critical dmg shooter, reward assist for next highest dmg player.

It’s even simpler than that really, as vehicles which have suffered sufficient damage already do give credit on crashing. All we need is:

If a death would otherwise count as a suicide, credit goes to nearest enemy player within ~5km.

Distance can be adjusted (further is better), but the key element is preventing players from ever dying (accidentally or especially intentionally) while “in combat” and not giving credit. Put another way, the distance limit is really only there so things like people crashing on takeoff at the start of a match don’t give credit.

IMO, if anyone damaged them then award the kill to the person that inflicted the most damage. If the plane is fully intact then award the kill to the nearest enemy with no range limit.

If somebody made a decision to try and get a kill by ramming somebody then so what? That is their choice.
