Attica shouldn't be available past BR 3.7

Basically the title. Just played this map for the first time ever and it was in a top tier sim match. Aside from the whole “small maps being in ground sim” thing which is an entire issue of its own, genuinely why did they add Attica to high tier battles?

In the past they had rearranged maps so that larger ones like Red Desert are only available at higher tiers, while others like Berlin only at lower tiers, yet every map they added lately to Ground Battles have been made available to all tiers without distinction (worst offenders being Aral Sea, Iberian Castle and Sun City imo).

Attica is probably the worst of all as you can just drive past the point and hold the only couple of approaches to the point from the other team’s spawn and entirely prevent them for moving in, since it is quite literally impossible to flank on this map as there are literal walls of rock funneling both teams into the points.

Nah, its fun at higher BR’s. Played an 8.3 match earlier today.

yeah. The map is not made for realistic tank combat, but COD/CSGO/2 like matches

The issues with this map are common with most gaijin maps, but this one perfectly illustrates it:
At lower tiers:

  • Can be fun as most players have no idea whats going on
  • Get 1 competent Tiger player to sit angled behind a rock, blocks the entirety of the enemy team from half the map
    At higher tiers:
  • Very. Very small map
  • 0 Flanking route, good luck to light tanks
  • Cas galore (if a team gets enough points anyway) because everyone is funneled into 3-4 general areas
  • Players simply camp behind rocks waiting for someone foolish enough to cross. Some fast vehicle get a point, punish anyone trying to do something then simply flank the enemy team still in their defensive positions, trap them in their spawn and gg well played.

For lower tiers small maps are fine, even preferable. But not like this, not with maximum 5 roads to go to, that all end up in hills, making you unable to fire down due to lack of gun depression.
For higher tiers, map this small make no sense and even less in this configuration. War thunder is not an fps, we dont have human-like hit boxes nor their mobility. Tanks cannot crouch (apart from the Strvs) nor can they really duck into cover.

i played on the map for the first time today at BR 12.0, as ITO90M within 2 minutes i was swarmed in my own spawn by a bunch of enemy t80U’s horrible experience

Unfortunately, Attica follows Gaijin’s current map trend to the letter. Small with narrow corridors where you are forced to meet your opponents head on.

It’s a clusterfuck on higher tiers - Naturally.
