I’d personally like to see it (with some spawn improvements) as a recurring event, a week long, once a month, maybe across from other recurring events, like naval EC is. I’d vary the top BR (3.7, 4.7, 5.7, maybe 6.7) event to event for variety, but the variety of 6 different random maps (counting offense/defense options) was one of the good things here, as was the reasonably short time to play.
These sorts of periodic events give squadrons something to do and rally around other than just encourage their players to just keep playing for squadron vehicle points. If all you care about is battlepass or the vehicle events, there’s actually very little value to squadding up. You’re just about maxing score in minimum time, and waiting for other people to finish the game after you’ve been knocked out, have to go answer the door or the phone, whatever… it’s just not efficient. A game that only has those kinds of activities, even with the best of intentions, will continuously approach a solitary experience and feel less and less like a gamer community overall.
Squadron battles and tournaments are increasingly focussed on top tier vehicles, a buy-in that discourages newer players. Having another entry-level option, not a mode, but just a series of short events like this one (I would count Nuclear Thunder in this too, although it’s a little more high-tier), no more than a week long before they go away again, on a reasonably regular schedule, that a squadron group can build membership events around and use their Discord voice channels for something, would be a long-term positive. I’d even suggest putting them in the gaps between the single-vehicle events (3 weeks worth of vehicle events, 1 week of Advance or something similar per month). It would seem to be manageable, if they could add this latest Advance run to a weekend, and then take it down without any significant server-side issues.
(People will say, well, just do your squadron hangouts while a vehicle event or a battlepass is on… but this event shows why people will always tend to do every vehicle event they can, and if that’s what they’re doing it’s better to just grind solo to do it. The most powerful rare non-Pucara vehicles in this specific event, VFW and PakPuma, were event vehicles in 2019 and 2017 respectively. People who played back then, or bought their way in (or got lucky on a lootbox) had effective additional lineup choices here others did not, for better or worse. Any event vehicle today could in theory give a gameplay advantage later, so it’s just the better use of your time if you can.)
