We’d like to invite you to participate in the “Advance” event! This is an asymmetrical battle where one team must capture all the points on the map, while the other defends them. Capturing key points decides the outcome of the battle, and familiar locations are revisited in a new tactical perspective.
From July 3rd (11:00 GMT) until July 6th (11:00 GMT), look for “Advance” in the “Events and Tournaments” tab.
How the event works
- The event takes place in Arcade and Realistic Battles on the Port Novorossiysk, Maginot Line and Volokolamsk” maps.
- Each point belongs to the defending team at the time of activation.
- The points are activated sequentially, one at a time. After the attackers capture the current point, the next one is activated.
- The capture points alternate in their functionality: A, C, and E (key points) are small in size but take a long time to capture; B and D (intermediate points) completely cover the defenders’ previous spawn zone, making them much larger in size than the key points, but they are captured significantly faster. After capturing an intermediate point, a new spawn point becomes available for the attackers to attack the next key point, while the previous spawn point is disabled.
- Capturing the last key point (E) or eliminating all defenders results in victory for the attackers.
- Holding the points for the duration of the mission or eliminating all attacking players results in victory for the defending team.
- The number of spawns per player is limited and differs between the defending and attacking teams.
- The maximum number of players per team is not the same.
- Spawning in ground vehicles in Realistic Battles does not require Spawn Points, however spawning in aircraft does.
- Repeated spawns are available, without requiring a backup vehicle.
Event Features
- To queue for the event, you need ground vehicles with a Battle Rating of 4.7–5.7.
- Vehicles with a Battle Rating of 3.7–5.7 are allowed in the battle itself — meaning you can add lower-BR vehicles to your lineup.
And finally, Attack the D point!

So we will have one event open for air and one for ground in the weekend??
Ok, now we talk…!
Even with the problems , that’s better than RBs.

Centurion Mk 1 & Black Prince crying in a corner rn.
Looks like fun though, a shake up of ground game modes is extremely badly needed.

Wait is this actually returning? It has been so long since it has been tested, does this mean we will also see testing of PvE gamemodes like there was back in 2021? With Eastern front 1941, Eastern front 1943, middle east 1973? cause I would love scenario in this style on perhaps Fulda gap with leopard 2s againts T-series of tanks in more PVE/COOP style. Tho I noticed its only from 3rd July to 6th July… what prevents it from staying for perhaps a week and if its received positively, perhaps make it reocurring gamemode similar to Naval EC?

Very nice. My only complaint is that these events are too short. Why not a full 7 days?
Hopefully it can become permanent

Will be interesting to see how it will play.
It will also be interesting to see how different nations will be better at attacking than defending and vice versa.
We still have 27 minutes until 11:00GMT.

HOLY…
Gaijin yes! This is exactly the kind of gamemode we need to see for some varitety! It’s perfect for WW2 era BRs. I’m looking forward to testing this new mode!
A few suggestions:
Make a semi-historical variant. WW2 vehicles only (so not BR by introduction date, just limit to the general WW2 era and theme), allied vs axis teams, WW2 themed maps, limited CAS role. Possibly replicate some historical scenarios.
Create an extended Berlin map for the above suggestion!
I played a game years ago that had a similar mode. It was a third person shooter with some vehicles which could be used as spawn points. You could also spawn at any point you’d captured. One of the big issues with that mode was the map design wasn’t great so you ended up with a long walk into a meat grinder point where you didn’t stand a chance as an attacking player, while defending players could respawn practically next to where they died. Try to avoid a situation like this. Advanced spawn points are probably necessary for a WT version! You’ve included these on points B and D, so that’s good. Please be open to expanding this to points A and C if necessary.
In the other game with a similar mode, it also had an arbitrary time limit ending the game with a defending team victory. That could feel very unsatisfying after you’ve played the mode enough times. Not sure what to do about this is it is an issue.
Some ability to recapture lost points for the defenders might be interesting. Teams will sometimes collapse and get pushed back! This should be rewarded for the defenders when the attackers are pushed back.
Perhaps some mechanism by which more defensive oriented vehicles are encouraged for the defenders would be nice. EG playign Germany a lot of the casemate TDs they have are really made for a defensive war.
