I think your missing the bigger picture. To borrow a phrase from another thread, GB’s in WT are an “objectively negative experience” meaning the very structure of the game is for the average player to be farmed repeatedly for marginal (or negative) rewards. There’s a lot that goes into that but it starts with the declining effectiveness of the multi-vehicle spawn mechanic.
You can add in maps, CAS, the Greifing Camera replay, painful and unrewarding grinds, and a range of other subsets of this. But suffice it to say that it’s not all about RP/SL.
I only have 1 vehicle per lineup, and only ever will. That’s because for the game to be enjoyable for me I have to be able to do what I can to control that massive pile of negatives Gaijin has built in. 1DL or simply refusing a game in the first place and not entering are the only tools for that.
I play to win. And for that, I need a lineup.
I co sider ODLs absolute selfish a55hats.
Yes, the game is frustrating and poorly balanced.
But there’s an easy fix. Actually 2.
Not play it.
Or git gud (and not play Germany, because with teams like that, you probably will still fail).
The score and activity for that tank will change by how much score you gain in relation to time played on top of the already gained ones, if your score is low but time played high you can respawn that tank to try to gain more score and change the activity % .
A fresh tank with zero score and zero play time will gain activity percentage based on how you do in it for that match.
?
I still don’t see how ODL would positively effect your net gain of RP here, spawning in again with a new tank will only result in that tank gaining playtime and hopefully score. The only time i could see a negative is if you have a vehicle with really high activity percentage that you spawn in again using backups during a time of the match where you will practically only gain time but no score. At that point the match has already gone for long enough that you are practically towards the end of it anyway.
If all capture point are taken and there are few targets then i’d argue that you have probably already done enough for your team to be actively winning at that point and leaving the match won’t really effect the outcome that much.
I think the complaint lies mostly with those that leave the match within 2-3 minutes after one death. At that time you still have much score and playtime still to gain.
No it is practically doable, as you have backups for sure. But you will have to aquire the score in the same stock vehicle, while your suggestion would allow your best vehicle for scoring and requires no backup. It would ask for exploits and would hence be no option for Gaijin.
That is a very flawed logic. People can spawn more than 1 tank. As a matter of fact, if people are ODLing it’s going to make task harder since people are spawning the vehicles needed to complete task. Your screwing everyone over.
I would be willing to bet that 50% of all matches at top tier are decided in the initial push. If you lose that initial engagement badly(which happens often) you will have about 5 tanks hiding under rocks at 2km blasting you in the back of the head before you can make it very far.
It simply doesn’t work, they can encourage good behavior but it’s never gonna stop the ones who actually do it.
You can’t punish someone for playing badly, or selfishly or anything. Why? Because they are still actually playing the game.
You can punish people who griff, team kill, go out of their way to mess with you during a match ect. ODL aren’t even playing the game and are actually ruining the overall experience for everyone who does want to play.
