Looking from the outside as someone who’s never played Ariete’s, I never understood why these two tanks were given DM53 and forced to sit higher than the vehicles themselves actually deserved. To maintain the notion that ‘everyone had a top tier’ perhaps? Not really necessary for these two tanks anymore now AMV and 2A7HU exist.
If they just had DM33, I could absolutely see them as 10.7 material.
I have no clue why those two Arietes are at 11.7, when they’re basically worse M1A2 (much worse armor, worse ammo compartmentalization, worse optics, worse mobility) and only have better thermals.
Doubt that placing them at 11.3 would do any harm to the game balance.
The AMV suffers from pretty much the same issues as the entire Ariete line, it’s got better mobility though. But not 12.0 material. The 2A7HU on the other hand is pretty damn good.
Oh I agree, I would have only insinuated leaving it at top tier with DM53 purely for the sake of MBT line-up depth. Though saying that, if i were an Italy player, i’d imagine after the 2A7 i’d be much more willing to spawn a KF41 / Freccia / Centauro etc before the AMV.
I think that without changes to the characteristics, the Ariete will feel right at home on 11.0. It will be a crystal cannon, a tank without armor, but with penetration
If you removed the DM53, they really would be 10.7-11.0 worthy tanks
I don’t approve of giving ammunition that is too good compared to the platform it is fired from, it is just a way to artificially build a top tier lineup where there is none.
Even with the just cl 3143 11.0 would be a bit too low, just 0.3 difference with the ariete p, while having a better round, lws and better optics, i think that 11.3 would be fine, sure you would keeps seeing 12.0 but you wouldnt face 12.7 cas which is probably more annoying
Ariete, Challengers, Probably most of the Merkavas. Should never have moved up in BR last BR change, they should have remained where they are and gone down.

Tad bit of cherry picking here. Add the CR2 to that list, especially the TES or OES. Base CR2 is like 18.7 hp/t with the TES/OES at 16 hp/t.
I get what you are trying to say, but it contains a bit of an ommision
Even with the armor fixed it wouldnt be much of a change, without the war kit you will keeps getting lol penned with pretty much every round at top tier, while with it you would still get killed by m829a2, dm53 or m338
If their armor can’t be increased to something decent, I believe it’s for the best to move the Arietes down and let 2A7HU and future additions (light tanks, SPAAs) form Italian top tier.
