Sometimes ARH missiles have a delay when trying to fire them. For example I’ll lock up an enemy aircraft and spool up the missile and as soon as I press to fire the missile, the missile will just not fire, or unspool itself. This is pretty annoying especially in intense situations.
Now there is already a post on here about this issue from like 2024, and under this post people have said that this issue arrises usually because I’ll have the same key-bind that locks the missile on target and fires it. Usually if you just have “fire air to air missile” bound, then it will lock up and fire. But people suggested to have “lock air to air missile” and “fire air to air missile” as separate, non-overlapping key binds.
Now I tried this but still felt like I experienced this issue all the same. Furthermore, I tested this in test drive and it seems like that even if I did use the same key-bind to lock and fire, there is no delay. So this tells me that it’s not a key-bind issue at all, instead its a server issue only.
I really only made this post to basically survey what other people experience when using separate key-binds. Do y’all still experience delays when firing when using separate binds in a public match? If so, then I believe this confirms that it’s a server issue only.
Well no problems having separate key binds until you get a bad sever right? Is it possible it could be the same as having the same key bind, and it’s just a placebo? Or has it dramatically improved for you?
I use a logitech G502X and gaijin in it’s infinite wisdom makes it painfully hard to bind important actions to mouse buttons, so what I had to do in order to bind launch to my middle mouse button is go into the dedicated app logitech made, create a profile specifically for war thunder in order to trick the damn game that my middle mouse button is actually my spacebar. Naturally this makes it so that the bug OP is talking about happens quite often, making an already frustrating matchmaker downright unbearable when a joust I SHOULD have won turns into a loss because the engine this game runs on dates back to the days Ea-Nasir was scamming people with shitty copper.
Seriously, War thunder is the ONLY game I’ve played that requires this sort of boondogle method to work out mouse buttons. In 2026. Bookworm Adventure Deluxe doesn’t have that issue, and it’s a joke game!Just… yeah.
No, if you use 2 functions on the same keybind, as I said, gunner view and chaffs for example, they block each other somehow. You can reproduce it in test flight, so no bad server involved.
That’s a different problem. OP has 2 functions on 1 button, you have 1 function on 2 buttons. Seems more like a problem with the mouse software. I use a Razer Naga Pro with 6-button plate and have to do the same “bind-trick”, no issues ingame. Anyway, if you mean the scrollwheel button as “middle mouse button”. On my mouse the game detect it correctly as mouse button.
