Arcade Battle should be changed to pure tank battles

Whats far more annoying is when your brawling PBR and you get killed by a bomb from the sky yet the player your were brawling with doesnt die. WTF is that all about???

i had just that situation a couple of weeks back, im in the german AA Sd.something, same vehicle is in my zone.
the bomb drops and goes off i get killed, he survived, looking at the replay im 0.05m away, he is 0.04m away.

i think the issue is people expecting computational excellence from a game that is clearly anything but.

The games HE system is a “bubble” around a vehicle, it will RNG pick one, and boom, if it was a spatial game, it would have no issues, but then it would be much harder to run on some computers, and almost all consoles.

Even the ranges of the top tier SPAA can’t really contend with planes because of how large the battlespace is. You would need a Pantsir in the middle of the map for any hope to really engage anyone, and you would have to wait and wait for someone to come in range. Other SPAA with 10km range like the XM1096 would just be guided missile food.

I play almost 100% AB, am an OK player, and like having the current Air component of GFAB. Why? Because:

  1. It’s fun. This is a game after all. I think some people take this waaaay too seriously.

  2. It adds variety. Which makes me more likely to play for longer, and player retention is presumably something that the Snail values.

  3. It rewards me when I play well in my tank (i.e. getting kills).

  4. I enjoy playing SPAA.

  5. I don’t want to be forced to play Realistic GB. I’ve tried it, prefer AB. YMMV.

Sure, getting bombed sucks, but you know what? You can start a new game straight away afterwards.

As others have mentioned, there sure seems to be a high sense of entitlement among some players/posters, with talk of ‘skill issue’ etc. If anything, I think allowing new or lower-skilled players to get kills makes the game more realistic - in the real world, you might be Wittman, but a n00b in a Sherman might get lucky & take you out. ‘Fairness’ doesn’t come into it.

You don’t really have to, I also noticed that RB mains who constantly feels the need to shat on arcade mains are mostly dog💩 players themselves in both game modes, you can find all the topics involving discussion of game modes have these guys, there is a similar pattern lol the more obnoxious they are they worse their stats are (the more they sucked the more they try to emphasize their preferred game mode to put themselves in a better place just to give themselves a false sense of achievements). Real good players always show respect to players regardless of the game modes they prefer mainly due to having a better understanding of game mechanics, Arcade is like Boxing, Realistic is like MMA, both require experience and skills to do well. Having played both game modes I was having more fun in arcade than in realistic.

^^THIS AF. There is no Tank arcade mode, its just an airstrike and artillery simulator. Actual tank vs tank fighting in this mode is maybe 9% of the actual game play. The rest is your tank getting blown up twice by airstrikes within a minutes time. Honestly, who the hell designed this crap? lol. IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!

This has to be the most snarky nauseating response I have ever read in years. You just admitted that this game mode virtually has NOTHING to do with tank battles. But you know what? People will eventually find a better game and you can just airstrike the living hell out of your precious bots. You are exactly why games are absolute trash now.

One more thing, in the real world, German tech smashed everyone out of the water. A “pro” in a Sherman could never beat a Tiger with a “noob”. Your fantasy world is far from reality.

I guess that makes sense. Well Gajian sense. I mean only gajian would not allow Arty in Spawns but planes to drop bombs in spawns eh… Ineptitude should be their moto.

There is just a small, tiny and probably irrelevant problem with this theory…over 75% of the deaths on a ground forces match are by ground vehicles.

There was ananlysis on the old forum, but you can actually see it on any match if you look at the kill events…

Hyperbole wont help identifying the issues.

I suggest you google how the gratest (german) tank ace of WW2 died…

sure, thats why 99% of the team list has around 4 kills or less, but the top guy alone has kills in the double figures, as high as 15 in some cases.

How about a mechanism where if a ground vehicle is destroyed by a bomber, it is not counted as a kill, but only returned to the spawn point?
This may alleviate some of the frustration, disgust, and disappointment felt when a ground vehicle is destroyed.
It won’t solve the dissatisfied of tankers, but Gaijin is reluctant to this issue, I don’t think they will even look at the proposed major changes.

If possible, it would be better to change the bomber to be controlled by the AI, not the player, and to drop bombs at designated points and leave, just like artillery support.

Of course, a smoke signal goes up at the bombing point. or a communication will come in from a ally who has intercepted the enemy’s request to bomb.
In short, it must be able to detect a request to bomb in the area near its current location.
I don’t think fighters are needed for ground battles.

If its not counted as a kill then what reward does the bomber get?

why just Arcade? RB should have an option for Mixed battles and (truly) tank/ground forces only.

germany lost because of sheer weight of numbers.

hitler once commented about the amount of tanks russia has, and i paraphrase ‘who has that many tanks?, the devil has that many tanks’.

he was gobsmacked by the amount of tanks he had to kill yet they still kept coming.

i think its commonly understood that german engineering was better than most others, the accuracy of its barrels, the accuracy of its hand weapons, british soldiers would prefer the mp44 to the tommy gun.

losing had nothing to do with the quality of their kit.

who cares what reward the bomber gets?

he should be fighting in a tank, thats what he spawned in.

but 1 tank spawn can result in 2+ plane spawns with no losses for being killed in the plane whatsoever.

the plane gets killed then ‘poof’ hes back in his tank with a dozen or more kills in the bag, free to carry on regardless, no losses, no forfeitures.

what does a bomber lose? 5 minutes in his tank, which is hiding at the back of the field only really susceptible to planes themselves.

try looking at the stats of tank kills via plane vs tank for the ‘top’ players.

im betting those with most tank kills were achieved using bombers.
