The game is a financial management simulator as much as it is a plane simulator. If your repair costs are above a certain percentage of your earnings it is better to wait it out. Now for the grind prior to today I would immediately repair some days if I hadn’t dropped into negative SL territory. Every fraction of a decimal of SL has to be saved for top tier.
Wait for sale and buy year of prem acc, if you go negative,you stay at 0 with it, your SL wont ever go negative with it since it got changed in roadmap,

The last time I GE’d a modification was 2020? with the F3H-2 cause I didn’t want to learn to be a better pilot and wanted to know what the AIM-7Cs were like.

The same thing was said about the F-5C. I’m not wasting money on premium jets anymore.

Look man, I’ve done nothing but try to optimize your efficiency because it is absolutely horrible. You can research every vehicle in the tree and wait until summer for the SL sales if you want. If you want to make it to those vehicles to be able to buy them, you’ll have to play the B-57 more than 1 game every 11 days. You have one of the best premium aircraft to grind SL with, the Ju-288C. Use it to get 1m-2m sl, and the grind with the B-57. Repair costs are lower now due to the time alive effecting the repair costs so they aren’t even that bad anymore.
By all means, don’t take my advice, it’s on you what you want to do. Don’t make an excuse for absolutely every thing that someone suggests. It makes me not want to help you when you try to make up a huge reason for not doing it. You’ll never reach rank 8 if you don’t take the advice.
Ju-288C money should go to every nation because it earns it so easily…

I started the Italian techtree sometime in November 2023, decided to see how my skills have improved after 500 hours of play. It took me roughly 3 months to get to F-16ADF and probably a 100 hours(not sure since I work a lot and play other modes). Granted, I have a premium account and Ariete, which I aced during the grind.
So I would say if you have the money and do not care for rank 5-6, then skipping them with a rank 5-6 premium is definetely worth it. As for the Air RB being difficult or not being used to it, yes, it takes a long time to learn. But it still gives A LOT of RP for something very mundane, for example, two kills and a base:
And it’s a Tornado, an absolute brick of a plane. So I would say if you do not want to spend money, then learning RB is the way to go.
I have premium. The problem with that is you still have earned nothing. I’d rather earn something and die than end up with zero.
And I get it, and I’ll try it. I just don’t think it is going to be the fix for me the way you think it is because I’m not you. It still shouldn’t take that long to advance in AB if people enjoy AB more than RB. I started in AB in 2013 so that is what I’m used to.
You have to look at the difference in the game mode to see why RB gets more rewards. You get 1 chance to make things happen, not up to 10 like in Arcade. Different levels of risk, for different levels of reward. Add in the lead indicator and such, then it makes complete sense RB gets more rewards.

that is not a complete tech tree though. not by definition.
by you personal goals maybe. but its VERY disingenuous to claim them completed when they are objectively not.
somehow i doubt that. judging by the amount of battles you have in each vehicle.
just look at this:
in all the vehicles below rank 5 (except two) you have less than 20 on 4 and single digits on the rest.
now lets pretend you used the premium A-5C to unlock those. that means that all that earned RP didn’t go to the higher tier vehicles. not only that but you MUST have bought the premium the VERY early into that tech tree to farm RP with it. so you don’t even close to have the normal experience that other players have when unlocking tech trees the F2P way, giving you even less say in the matter.
and wow. i just noticed. you only have one rank 5 in this list, meaning you have unlocked the rest without ever playing them.
you entire service record looks so off. like way off. wtf.
i have so extremely many more battles than you for ANY given nation. i have had premium account for about 75% of my time as a player, granted i don’t use premium vehicles but i use boosters like any other player would and still needed vastly more games and RP gained in total to unlock the entire Swedish tech tree. and not for a lack of skill. my average lifetime score in ground RB is 1473 against your 841.

It’s not 100%ing the tech tree, we’ll agree on that.
Completion isn’t necessarily 100% though.
I’m to the end of each tech tree, and have every vehicle I want from them including their end vehicles.
A-5C only got me to around BR 9.0 then I used those primarily to get the rank 7s, and I used the rank 7s to get the rank 8s.
Also premium account time doesn’t show up in vehicle research stats.
I don’t play vehicles I don’t like or got burnt out of, simple as.
I also almost exclusively used RP and SL boosters with air RB, almost never for ground RB.
My Swedish tech tree up until the purchase of J35XS, which was the patch AJS-37 was added, was purely tech tree grind. I used J35XS to get me Mig-21Bis and JA-37C, then I stopped using it.
We can talk in detail on Discord if you want and I can explain all my tactics/methods of grind.
I can illustrate what vehicles I stopped playing at what times.
Like the M18 I spaded ~2017 then never played again until 2022.
A lot of information I learned I kept to myself.
The rewards looking juicy. But yea, gotta keep repeating. That’s just 1 base, soon can try for 2 bases or when ya use the B-57B, can get some air kills too after dropping the payload on bases for extra rewards.
This is why people fight over bases in top tier a lot. It’s just very effective on grinding the TT. Due to bases being stolen by faster jets, people started using FFAR rockets to destroy bases from a distance.
EDIT: just saw ur 2nd game, 2 games and already researched 17,685 for that F-105D. That’s progress!

well that just cant be true. you have a TOTAL of 120 games within rank 6 (where BR 9 is and not counting the A-5C as you stated you didn’t use it then). and a TOTAL of around 200 kills within ALL rank 6 jets in China that aren’t premium. there is absolutely no way you unlocked 5 rank 7 planes within those games. 300k RP needed, 5 jets is 1.5mil RP divided by 120 games is 12k RP AVERAGE over those games and given your average score of 722 in air RB that just isn’t possible.
it was to point out that you have no say in RP gain as you don’t play like 95% of all other players do.
ill grant you that SOME of you trees look more normal, but most of it looks so weird. you have like almost no battles in the tech tree vehicles and then a vast amount (comparatively) of games in a premium aircraft.
even like your soviet tree and USA tree that look the most normal (and that you had more than 50 vehicles in both before 2018) when you look at the lower tiers there is almost no games in any of the planes and when you find an outlier that suddenly has like 100 + games and you check it, wouldn’t you know it! its a premium!
i don’t think you have EVER played this game like a f2p player.
so you can’t add to the discussion as if you know how much RP a regular player earns.
ohhhh no no no no. i already know. math don’t lie. you buy premiums and grind those till you unlocked the higher tier vehicles.
the only thing i’m remotely interested in seeing is the purchase and balance history in your Gaijin store.

like, i just looked at your most played games in planes over all time and in the top 20 nine of them are premium. and most of the ones that aren’t premium are from USA or Soviet
I can tell you what I intentionally and unintentionally ground out using premium vehicles:
China air.
Unintentionally Britain air [Sea Vixen].
Unintentionally USA [A2D in simulator battles].
Unintentionally Soviets [T-55AM-1].
Intentionally Ju-288 [mostly in sim].
At least half of my premiums in top 20 are cause I really like the vehicle.
Wyvern I didn’t research anything with really cause I was playing it researching significantly higher things.
KV-1E was purchased in late 2022 as a unique tank to play, researched only vehicles added in 2023 onward really.
M60A1 DC Ariete was purchased when I already had OF-40.
Type 74G was purchased when I already had Type 74E.
Tiger 2 SLA was purchased when I was already at 7.X Germany.
