Approximately 245 days to finish US Air Rank VI

Severe dmg is 80% of the reward.

You can still get 100% if you just continue to engage?

Yea, of course it’ll work for your skill level, it is the same exact thing that you do with the Ju-288C, which is why I suggested it.

Yes, making large gains in progression requires a change of playstyle and it isn’t always the most exciting or profitable.

Go back to arcade then, you wanted to know how to progress faster and you progress faster in realistic. Air RB has different rules than the rest of the game and you can leverage that for progression.

You sir are not an average player just like I am not an average player. I can say with confidence that very few players play one game and then wait 4 days for a repair on vehicles they want to prgress quickly with. Especially after the economy updates, and even more so if they have premium account status. You are the opposite extreme from the “grindy” players.

Not that I’ve seen. My rewards are way down due to kill stealing. Even though the plane is no longer combat capable and is effectively a kill I don’t get the same amount of reward I used to, especially for crits. It was a mathematical way for Gaijin to increase the grind by nerfing rewards.

I meant piloting skill. I only wait for repair if I go negative because it makes economic sense to do so.

Because at some point I will be unable to physically play this game and my gaming hardware will be too expensive to replace.

It makes economic sense to take negative sl games for great leaps in progression and then use your premium Ju-288C to make that SL back very easily. The way you choose to do it is riddled with inefficiencies that are holding you back.

Except that with where I am now in the German tree, by using the Ju-288C I take a 60% hit to RP gain. That is not efficient progression. Players are on to the Ju-288C spam now anyway and I only get a base about 50% of the time before dying.

You have to maximize RP and SL gain for every single game, especially if you are never in the top 3.

It isn’t about the German tree, it is about SL gain. The Ju-288c isn’t spammed because it’s a fun plane it is spammed because it is one of the best sl grinders in game, for any skill level.

I can almost guarantee you can get to bases around 90 percent of the time if you dive hard immediately after spawning. I use my SL boosters with my Ju-288c because it is just about certain for me to get a base. I can link a replay later showing the technique if you’d like.

You don’t at all, that is one of the points of having a premium plane that gives twice the SL woth half the repair costs of similar planes. You have to pick an area to sacrifice efficiency in, otherwise you won’t make it to where you want to.

  1. Arcade is fun for you but gives low rewards. Realistic is not fun but you can progress much faster.

  2. You can play onsies and twosies and stop if you don’t gain sl (since you can’t lose any because of premium), which means you can stop your progression in 1 game. You could grind 10 games and lose some SL, and then use the Ju-288c for 10 games to balance out (and probably gain) SL.

  3. You could take 3 years to hit rank 8 in aircraft because you don’t want to make changes in how you do things. You could take 3-6 months if you would change your mindset and make changes to your playstyle.

This is all your decision at the end of the day. You have to deal with the consequences of whatever those decisions are.

i grinded french air tree from almost beginning (rank 2) to mirage 2000 5f (rank 8) in 10 days, bought the premium f1c on 14th and finished sunday, i played probably 4h per day on average, by day 7 i actually only had last 2 mirages which took the longest, still a lot of work but 245 days is crazy lol

That’s literally impossible at this point unless you’re a horrible player and…

(only 12k with a premium account and 300% booster because you did very little in the match and you’re playing arcade)

And checking your stats… All you do is ground pound. You’re basically an NPC. It’s no wonder that you’re basically getting nothing. Because you also do pretty much nothing. And you mostly play arcade.

That makes this comment of yours:

VERY insulting.

I’m over here wondering how anyone is not making SL hand over fist. They have to keep bringing out these SL loot boxes because we all have too much SL now.

It was mentioned earlier in the thread that OP plays one battle per day and waits for repairs.

I think that might have been an RB game where I was trying the advice given. Bomb a base then try to rearm.

Yes, until recently for the B-57A it was arcade. The last few games were all Air RB as suggested. Some aircraft (like the Wyvern) I would bring in to RB for completion of a Battle Task and kill ground targets.

Well I’m sorry but I think if you read the thread that’s pretty much the advice given.

I can make SL, the issue is how much do I want to lose with repair costs. If I make 25Ksl but repair is 12k that is not efficient earnings. You always pay a price somehow.

It depends on earnings and aircraft. Sometimes I’ll max out at 2 or 3 games per tree which is about an hour’s worth of game time.

I have tried and will continue to do so. I’m going to track US Rank VII after the sale but playing for 1 minute 45 seconds in Air RB and getting knocked out of the sky by an all-aspect missile in an uptier isn’t very fun. It shouldn’t take 3-6 months either, that is still insane for a game. Name another game that takes 3-6 months for an average player to finish.

I understand that but I should be able to play the game in the way that is the most fun for me without artificial barriers being put in place. I like US props, but playing them now on a regular basis is worthless due to the RP penalty.

I’m glad you were successful with the amount of time you have available to play. I"m assuming it was Air RB? I do not have 4 hours a day to dedicate to the game.

World of Tanks, World of Warships, and the other games with a similar format to them. There is also no “finishing” Warthunder. Unlike an RPG with a set story, Warthunder exists simply to progress. Progression is what the game needs to be profitable, and it will always depend on making the player want to progress. Uptiers happen almost constantly to make you want the vehicle that can destroy you easily now so you play more.

The RP penalty has purpose. They want you to progress a certain way, not research the entire tree while stomping new players the entire time. By all means, play the game in the most fun way for you, it is for entertainment after all. Don’t get butthurt that you aren’t progressing when you know how the system works. This genre of game takes quite the dedication to achieve top tier vehicles, and when Warthunder is compared to World of Tanks Warthunder’s progression system is actually much better. I came from World of Tanks, and being able to progress with a multitude of vehicles in a rank to bypass unwanted vehicles is amazing. If you want to progress in World of Tanks, you better hunker down for awful vehicles because you MUST play them or pay to bypass them.

Here is one example: My preferred way though, others may have better ways to grind.
Just 1 match and earned near 40k RP lol And this is ARB. Could of gotten more but since The4thAmigo is premium player and owns premiums, this should be doable for him.

You are right. I always sucked at air. Bought f4s and even A10 cuz I like it but couldn’t even pass rank 2. I gave up even and only played tanks for 2 years. And guess what. The f20a which people hate just gave me f15a and f16c in 8 days. Yes played at least 10 hours a day butt that still makes under 100 hours. I couldn’t believe myself. And thanks to f20a I finally learned the mechanics of aircraft gameplay. Then finished Italy with TAF by playing less around 20 days. Mirage f1c gave me 5f and the new f16. Of course all with premium time too. Now for the new update I wanted to finish china fast till update to get j10. But with my 2 year old a5c it seemed so hard. LoL till the trailer I’m pushing a5c and I’m on half of rank 7. Guess on two days I’ll be ready. Dunno why people hate premiums but I got some money to spend on my fav. game time to time. But don’t have years to get the vehicles I want. Especially at the age of 42 lol.

They hate premiums cuz of the Br they at and struggle to kill lol They forget the point of a premium, to unlock and climb the tree. People hated on the F-4S cuz “its bad”, like…dang…that jet grinded me the TT pretty quick lol and also because youtubers out there making videos like “Don’t buy this” or “Dont waste your money on this” or “Not worth it” lol

Yeah I don’t know how you got that. I’ve gotten 4 kills at rank VII (only once every 20 games or so) and don’t get nearly that amount of RP, even with Premium and using a Premium aircraft like the F-5C. The max RP I’ve ever received without a booster was about 12-16K. I think I got 20k once with a booster. So you either have some kind of RP magic or you got uptiered to 12.3/12.7 and killed a bunch of F-14s or Gripens.

It does bring up the point that to progress decently you need to be 1st, 2nd or maybe even 3rd place for every game. It is not mathematically possible to be that consistent for a large majority of the playerbase. Here are my kills per game using the Swedish MiG-21 BIS because I’ve been tracking it daily. I think my K/D ratio is .007 or something ridiculous. Out of 163 games I got 4 kills only 4 times. I don’t have them broken down as to AI kills or players so for some games the number of kills is a combination of both, sometimes only AI kills.

Bomb bases and air kills. Bases gave a lot of RP.
1x base is equivalent to maybe 8 to 10k RP, i got 2 bases, then 4 kills.

So adds up to almost 40k RP.

This is why you will see sooooo many players racing for bases.
