AntiCheat issue

There it is the weekend, and Bug reports and other issues and Communications USUALLY do not get a response until the weekdays.

HOWEVER, I already tagged two of the community managers in this thread because this is such an important and critical issue. Please do NOT ping them again, and do not ping them in the future unless it is something important like this potential issue is.

So, just keep posting any new information you have, or progress you have here in this thread. There is nothing further to do for now.

The submitted bug report is appropriate, do not make more duplicate bug reports now. If you would like to add more information to that bug report go ahead and add a reply to it.

But again, do not create more bug reports for this same issue, it only clogs up the systems and slows down response times.

Submitted bug report:

I’ve already lost once, and now I can’t control a damn helicopter anymore LOL. At least I still partially remember the controls for tanks, aircraft, and ships.

I just tested it. Don’t waste your time reinstalling the game.

It won’t fix the problem!

no way… :(

UPD: yeah it didnt work for me either. defender blocked the file again.

cant post a new reply since apparently there is a limit for the new forum users lmao.

UPD 2: @FlyingDoctor work in progress client does not start as well. normal version neither ofc.
UPD 3: adding launcher to the exclusion list didnt help. adding battle eye launcher to exclusio list didnt help either
UPD 4: @Force_M it deleting that folder worked for me as well. there is no need to verify game files since after deliting that folder and starting the game bettleye will create that folder again by itself. this time no trojan warnings without any virus exclusions.

Good, now i can play the game but i dont have time for it. Lets see if by tomorrow there will be any info from devs regarding this issue.

PS and damn, there should be any warning that i can post just a few replies in my first 24 hours on the forum. i cant reply and be usefull now, only hoping that people will notice my edited reply here.

But look how funny/ironic this is:

Enlisted works perfectly fine and launches normally. :3

Why should I have to create another account on a different Gaijin platform just to report a bug?

And the worst part is that I didn’t find anyone there who was responsible for the issue or who was able to solve it either.

Please, just stop sending me those links.

? create a new account? u just sign into ur gaijin acc and report it its where all bug reports get tossed to the devs.

Oh don’t worry about posting more on this thread friend. Adding any new information or updates you have is exactly what the forums are for. You’re not bothering anyone. It’s just not necessary to ping anyone else now 👍

Does anyone know if they are on the Work in Progress client or not? I was using WIP until a couple of days back when the last patch dropped, but since then I haven’t been on it.

Sometimes turning WIP on and off again can also have some effect. (I can login without it on currently.)

If there were actually people responsible here who could pass this issue along to the appropriate developers so it could be resolved, maybe we wouldn’t be sitting on the main discussion site trying to troubleshoot a problem that we didn’t cause simply because we want to play the damn game.

And as I said, Enlisted launches and works normally. If I’m not mistaken, I believe both games use the same anti-cheat system.

So logically, shouldn’t we be seeing the same error in both games?

The forums and Community bug reporting site are separate websites run by the same company. You don’t have to sign into the bug reporting site if you don’t want to.

Sending you links? If you’re talking about their posts on the forums here, they’re not sending you anything. If they’re sending you direct messages well thay would be a different story. But you can stop tracking or mute this thread if you want to. No one’s forcing you to read it.

I already pinged the community managers. They can contact the Developers. I understand your frustration, but there’s no need to get too worked up about it.

As I already said, low priority issues are usually addressed after the weekend. However, this is not a low priority issue and they have a very good track record of addressing high priority and/or critical issues rapidly, even over the weekend. Just sit tight and give it a little bit of time.

I solved the problem: Go to Virus & threat protection → Virus & threat protection settings → Manage settings → Exclusions → Add or remove exclusions → Add an exclusion, and add the War Thunder launcher from your desktop.

I hate solving problems. I really, really hate it…

Here’s the issue though… if we do that and its truly a trojan or spyware then were compromising our computers.

Almost every antivirus is practically a Trojan on your PC; Windows simply allows it. And even if something goes wrong, in 2026, not being able to deal with a Trojan is pretty ridiculous…

Not to mention that the files were downloaded again directly from the game’s official website, so there’s practically no chance that a Gaijin employee would have the ability to disguise a Trojan, infect nearly 160,000 computers at once, and get away with it.

Windows Defender is actually really decent though compared to the other antivirus.

I still can’t get it to flag my BE.dll, WIP, non-WIP, I’m installing the game on my steam machine to test that but from what I see, I should already have been flagged.

It’s impossible for a game the size of War Thunder to infect 160,000 computers with a single launcher file, especially since they would have to take responsibility for the situation if an employee had deliberately done something like that.

That said, we’ve been playing this game since 2012 or 2015, if I remember correctly, and we’ve seen even worse bugs than this. I don’t see any reason to be particularly concerned about the solution I found.

My PC is practically high-end, so I wouldn’t take unnecessary risks. And if there really were a Trojan there and we’re assuming the game’s anti-virus/anti-cheat system somehow failed, I’m pretty sure we all know how to format a computer.

After all, Trojans are a relatively easy problem to deal with compared to some of the things players end up getting by visiting questionable websites in the middle of the night.

steam version?
