AMX-30B2 Could be 8.3?

fr_amx_30_b2

The AMX-30B2 is a French medium tank placed at a battle rating of 8.7. Utilizing both Thermals, Laser-Rangefinder and APFSDS, its quite a versatile tank.

But there is one eeny tiny thing that is missing, yes i am talking about a Stabilizer or Armor. Since the BRENUS version has ERA and IRCM (Basically the “armor” that the normal version is missing) it should make the battle rating a bit higher.
And since the normal version is missing these features i think that it (The normal version) should be 8.3.

Should the AMX-30B2 be 8.3?

Snail will but the BRENUS to BR 9.0 now…

Instead of increasing the BR of various MBTs with composite armor, LFR, Stab, and APFSDS that can pen more than 190mm at 90°, we’re down tiering things like this

The thing is it makes no sense for it to be the same BR as the BRENUS which is just better

So you think it is just as strong as T-55A?

I don’t have the T-55A but I believe it might be. Nonexistent armour and having no stabiliser while being as bouncy as it is makes it extremely bad in many of the close quarters maps of this game

It has worse penning APFSDS (129mm at 60°at 10m), the armor profile is worse than AMX-30 btw, no LFR, no smoke grenades, 8.7 sec max reload, worse mobility, no thermals.

Most battles I’d take the stab over all of those. But you’re right maybe it’s compressed a bit but the two AMX-30 should not both be 8.7 and the BRENUS cannot go up.

8.3 would just be ridiculous

Not particularly no. It is a glass cannon

There are so many vehicles that do not have the same strengths as the AMX-30B2 at 8.3 or 8.0 it easily surpasses them completely, it’s like if the TAM was 8.3

People say the same about Leopard 1 at 8.0 and the others at 8.7 & 9.0

It is not.

And yet you ignore the biggest weakness of the tank.

I never even considered putting it at 8.0

Perfectly fine where it is

I said if fella

Not having a stab is not that bad

Ok?

yeah and it’s not an apt comparison.

On many of the maps you play where most of the fighting happens in close to mid range and sniping is not an option it really is.

Why mention it then??

That’s what you think

Ok?, that doesn’t mean it’s like unplayable or whatever

What are you talking about?

The tank is fine, what’s needed are better and bigger maps. The Brenus needs to be given the real protection of its ERA, better ammunition, and its BR increased.

There is quite a difference between the vehicles.

When did I ever call it unplayable or some such? It just becomes really dificult to do well in on such maps because your reaction time due to no stab is insanely bad.

Agreed

not russian so never gonna happen

can the cannon even fire better ammo?

god please no. a 9.0 unstabilised tank just won’t do. Why do you think it’s 8.7 in the first place?

The AMX-30B2 Brenus in the game (with a 750hp engine) is a 1998 upgrade. In the game, its best round is the OFL 105 F1 (1981) with penetrations of 361mm at 0º and 209mm at 60º, but it could also fire the Vextra’s best ammunition, the OFL 105 G2 (1987) with penetrations of 445mm at 0º and 257mm at 60º. Besides these two rounds in the game, there’s the OFL 105 G3 (1987), which has slightly less penetration than the OFL 105 G2, and the OFL 105 F2, which is the same design as the OFL 105 G2 but made of Du instead of tungsten, making it even better in terms of penetration. than the OFL 105 G2 that is already in the game with penetrations of 445mm at 0º and 257mm at 60º.

The problem remains the same: if it doesn’t have a stabilizer, but if there aren’t correct maps, and its ammunition isn’t correct, nor its ERA protection, in the end those tanks end up being left in the Br they are in, because historically they don’t have certain features (stabilizer), but there is also the problem that they artificially deny it other historical features on purpose.
