Ammo Discussion

I don’t have evidence of WHAT? I. did. not. make. any. claim. about. Russian. bias.

“Literally not claiming anything in the first place” does not require “evidence”

If that goes on why not just ask One of Cms if it is true? Well they might not answear but worth a try

Perhaps you are confusing me with “AlvisWisla” since we share a profile picture.

you’re literally claiming that gaijing as a secret code different from the public one…

No. I didn’t.

Do you know what the word “IF” means?

“IF they did want to be sneaky, then they WOULD do XYZ” is not the same as “They totally did XYZ”

youre still impliying that gaijin cloud have a private code to just benefit the russians… which is completely groundless

Of course they COULD.

Any time there is any private code anywhere, it COULD contain anything at all. That’s literally just the definition of what private means.

Are you suggesting that private information cannot exist and that we are all a Borg hive mind?

Im just gonna leave this here. Let you all decide what to think

I could go on with other MBTs, but we already see a pattern. This is not specific to Russian vehicles. Other nations have low ammo rack chances as well. But not all. And it’s not NATO/USSR specific.

My grain of salt would be that Gaijin uses these values alongside others yet unknown differences to balance top tier based on statistics we don’t have an access to. Because 15% or 50% ammo rack chance? Yeah, not a small difference."

I dont know the specifics of 10.0-3 tanks but id bet something is up.

Yeah the numbers being really weird on their own does also suggest there’s another layer of processing going on. Whether that extra layer would be totally benign or not, though, no idea.

Interesting. That very well may be a possibility tbh.

Challenger gets shafted.
At least with Abrams, 100% of the ammo is behind blast doors.

Yea I do think that’s weird that challenger gets shafted considering their ammo propellant is specifically stored in water bins/wet ammo rack, and if anything, should be the only time ammunition/propellant “disappears”

I’ve also noticed with US and some other Nato countries, blast doors dont really matter anymore and its purely up to rng. I’ve ammo racked M1 Abrams (105mm variants) and KVTs with the Weasel 1A2 20mm with shots that only hit the ammo not punching through the blast doors and it’ll instantly kill the crew just from ammo detonation alone. Which in and of itself makes 0 sense and entirely defeats the purpose of blowout panels.

I think Gaijin needs to rework and focus on their blowout panel situation and state for each tank a description or even in the Xray view when hovering over the ammo, what propellant is being used, its chances of detonation on impact, its chances of cooking off, and if blowout panels are rendered useless when it’s hit.

From my research on say the Rheinmetall DM23 specifically from the 1982, it had something called “semi-combustible cartridge”, typically only the mouth part of the casing was made of combustible material, while the remainder of the ammunition was made of non combustible materials. This means there is a reduced propellant volume, and can lead to less intense explosion if the propellant is ignited. There is also less energy released since the combustible material is reduced, lowering even more, the risk of catastrophic detonation.

Something which the war thunder Devs seem to have completely ignored.

It so happens that i may or may not have a current datamine, so if you need anything just tell

Oh yea, and Cr1 has wet ammo storage. Cr2 does not. Its bin is made from non combustive metal, space around the charges is also something not combustive, and there is space in between all this so the gases from the charge spread there, greatly reducing time of the chain reaction, or even the chance of it spreading to other charges in some lucky case

Source (you will have to trust my word for that)

I’ve had shots going through ammo + crew compartment, but crew still lived. This bug goes both ways.

You could argue that since many modern tanks have blowout panels, these shells get destroyed but don’t take the others with them? I don’t know but yes it sucks.

Blowout panels just act as an barrier between the ammo and the crew.
If that panel is perforated and the ammo explodes, it could very well kill the crew as well.

In reality yes, but this is a game after all.
As far as I know, the game doesn’t care if your crewman is restocking the first ammo storage and it gets hit.
This would kill the crew too because the protecting panel is open.
