I found all aluminum alloy armor no longer be able to ricochet apfsds, even in super large angle, first foune in ZBD-04A, then after some test, all aluminum alloy armor vehicle show same bug.
I created a issue about this.

There’s probably overmatch in play.
If a round overmatches the armor, the ricochet chance decreases, thus rounds won’t ricochet at the 100% point which is shown in the stat card.
From what I see, APFSDS rounds will ricochet past 84°.
I think large caliber APFSDS all have a caliber of around 30mm. Thus the angle of ricochet is decreased against armor that has less resistance than 30mm of RHA.
at least, it’s a new change. before, most players who often encounter these BMPs, more or less, experienced ricochet on UPF.
and I tried some slight steel armor, they can ricochet
I mean, it wouldn’t ricochet anyway, it would shatter the rod and armor depending on hardness of it.
The thing is, it can ricochet before, now it can’t. and it’s not mentioned in any update log or datamine change log as I remember.
And I tested different caliber apfsds, found the minum caliber is ITA 60mm APFSDS, 2S38’s 57mm and other smaller will ricochet as normal.
this don’t match the “Overmatching” principle
no matter consider the gun’s caliber or the APFSDS’s caliber.
60mm APFSDS(17mm) is even thinner than 30mm apfsds(18mm).

That’s why even though it’s got no armor, a hull down BMP is a crazy hard target.
(Not to mention it’s like, idk, a meter and 3/4’s, and the turrets only like, less than a meter, around 90cm ish. )
