Out of those pictures, only the first one would be hard to spot. The other two would be very easily picked out even at distance.
Today, simply shooting your opponent (shells or heavy machine-gun bullets) blows up most of these 3D decorations, including the bushes.
From a distance it’s just a blurred mess and it still an advantage to have these bushes, having to identify that second tank from 400m away is not easy and the Maus is obviously always a Maus but it matters where on the turret you hit it.
Yes, I love having to alert the tanks I want to shoot by spraying them with MGs first and wait for the bushes to fall off if I somehow manage to hit their shitty hitbox and then I can shoot it, that surely sounds like a fool proof plan, assuming of course you have MGs on your vehicle, which tons of vehicles do not.
That is under the assumption that you have SPOTTED the enemy already. If an enemy could easily be spotted, then the bushes would not be a problem.
That’s the point of camouflage: to avoid detection.
Still, it should be grindable like squadron vehicles or ace crews (that is something you can make slow progress towards whenever you play, even if it’s an absurd grind. Seriously, make it a 200 or 400 hour grind per tier or per vehicle to unlock a single bush and I’m happy), rather than time-gated to a specific battlepass that needs level 57 to access (and 5500 warbonds which I think you cannot obtain in a single BP cycle. I’ve been working on getting the aigle this BP and at level 37 I couldnt afford the 2700 warbond cost and needed to grind to level 48 for another 850 warbonds). It’s the time gated aspect that really bothers me because some people have really weird schedules like me where they have zero free time for a month or two, then WFH & chill for a month or two and repeat.
It’s fun to see some guys shouting “Unbalanced”, “Unfair advantage” in the thread for a whole year, while Game Masters and Community Helpers try to explain how this mechanic is balanced and not P2W ^^
Game mechanics haters always found to be like this.
Being a game master, community helper or moderator does not preclude being wrong ^^
Their opinion isn’t more important or relevant than that of anyone else, I value them lesser as they have a direct incentive to pick a side.
Yeah, and you have to spend 500 yellow chickens per bush to have the privilege of this camouflage.
Apart from the first bush models, which you could buy for 500 GE for 6 in 2016, I got all the other models for free through warbonds.
Which would cost you 3000 GE now.
Also, bushes are not always available for warbonds, like now for example.
Also, new players will not have the time/skill/knowledge in order to grind for them. The game literally never explains to you what warbonds or specials tasks are.
Yeah, and then they changed the warbonds so that items cycle out of the shop and they tied it to the battlepass so you can’t do that remotely as easily as you could before.
Or you have the time, but at the wrong part of the year.
I’m all for grinding. I’m even all for stupid grinds taking 200 or 500 hours.
I’m not for FOMO though.
At least their opinions are kinda more “official” respond, aren’t they?
Battle Pass isn’t the only way to get bushes free… By grinding events you can get nearly everything free.
And btw, to “turn off” or remove bushes is completely another problem. Just like asking to remove CAS, remove artillery… what they want is to remove the fun, reduce choices of gameplay, and finally produce a “very fair” game that everyone use the same vehicle, same crew and same mechanics.
“Turning off” isn’t for decorations. Instead it’s for non-historical things, to make the game more realistic. For instance historical camos can’t be turn off. In the same reason bushes should never have a turn off option.
Fine if you don’t value your time.
Why does my choice of turning off bushes affect your fun, your choice or anything when they’re not an advantage? You still get to see them
You don’t play for 2-4 days and you cannot complete the event. Or you want to play air sim rather than grb and your playtime doesn’t count either.
The fun part is not “good looking so fun”. It’s that I won’t be spotted by enemies (especially when in a rat vehicle). So that I can flank or scout better.
And if they can be obtained free they are literally not P2W. Many players don’t consider this a hard grind.
