Secondly, the Merkava’s lower plate is exceptionally thick. The 1200 horsepower engine of the Merkava Mk.3 was already capable of withstanding 3BM42 as seen above in my last image, so the 1500 horsepower engine will stop more. Israeli engines are intentionally reinforced and extremely durable. Not just that, but the armor also has fuel behind it, which the Swedish proved was exceptional at nullifying penetration. The Merkava also has its Transmission, which also adds armor to this.
