Just after killing an A-10 with guns, my plane got damaged and on fire without getting hit by anything, no missiles, no bullets, no bombs, didn’t crash into the A-10, nothing! I pressed the J to see if someone had damaged me but no one damaged me. After J out I got the usual crew lock.
I watched the replay a couple of times and I can’t make any sense of what happened, from the POV of the server, as soon as the A-10 got killed I also got immediately set on fire.

In short version you hit the Bombs, they went boom while you were close to them.
I assume you didnt knew that Bombs can explode now if you hit them.

I know, but on my end there was no explosion visible or it was just too small
no, like i said you can hit the ordanance and they go boom while hanging on the plane

Anyway, that solves the case, its just weird that those 2000lbs bombs didn’t a big explosion
id say from that screenshot its a pretty big explosion…
and since the A10 havent released them, your death goes under the category suicide/accident

Yes but on my live gameplay there wasn’t any meaningful explosion, on the replay I was watching in sensor mode so I didn’t noticed that either.
I just saw the a-10 in flames after I made my staff then I got on fire with a little damage. Those 2000lbs exploding at that distance should disintegrate both planes

Fun Fact: if a plane in ground RB gets shoot down and still having bombs on it, you can still shoot them on the wreckage laying on the ground and they will explode with full force.
Also the A10 played the ultimate UNO Reverse card on you with that one XD

So in this case I fell victim of server-client miscommunication shenanigans I guess
bedder then shooting yourself down with your own aim 9L because it hit 0.5 sec after launch a tree.
