Air RB has some serious balance issues ever since planes like Mk IX LF, Yak-3U, J2M2 got their firepower boosted to pretty damn insane levels. So the mode is far from not struggling. But at least there are improvements. This gives some hope.
Yes. I got hit in the wing of my Fw 190 F8 by a single shell, wing gave. Yes, the guns are usually noy insta-killers but neither is Fw 190 A8 armanent, it actually requires several shells on target most of the time (I am a compulsive replag watcher :😏), and Spitfire has excellent ballistics which basically means I can no longer expect.to survive a head-on, because a single hit will cripple my plane beyond usability nowadays.
And it’s very easy to catch 1 shell, especially when I have to land several in return.
Agree. AA is a just defence to our reload and repair time, and to avoid these spawn campers (attackers). Also, this same mechanism should be adopted in ground realistic battles too.
You guys who are complaining about AAs, in the battles are missions to fullfill and earn points to archieve victory even with these “base/airfield campers”. I think the rewards to complete the misisons should be increased.
The promblem lies when its abused by a few if not many pilots and makes the game run along time over, 1 player holding everything up when it can end andmove onto the next match
That’s not correct - i play exclusively with thrustmaster joystick on xbox and i outturn every mouse aim controlled 109 (except Emils) with a 7.5 ton heavy fighter - they can only escape if they stay above 550 and use their superior roll. Rip is speed depends on alt but getting 870 TAS is possible.
All i have to do is to minimize their energy advantage to begin and baiting them to a turnfight. Key is dodging and avoiding their headon approach and get through the first 2 turns without a scratch - the sustained turn of the SM 92 is better, flaps can be used at very high speed (~600 TAS) and with the correct MEC setting i fly the whole match with WEP.
I admit that if i meet a joystick pilot in a 109 things are much more complicated, usually initial positioning decides those very rare, sometimes very long 1 vs 1s - mostly ending that one of us get 3rd partied…
U can use any mouse and keyboard with xbox too. Playing Air RB with a controller is like going with a knive to a gun fight…
The certified thrustmaster jstick needs some time to find the “best” settings and is not cheap (despite low quality) but it levels the playing field. The only real advantage of mouse aim vs a jstick (with SFC and instructor off) in Air RB is the headon attack - mouse aim is extremely stable vs joystick, so u have to avoid them at any cost.
And you also climb to space and often dive to AF whenever situatiom gets remotely bad, unless you decided to actually stop ruining the game for others.
The info displayed on screen is the same as in localhost:8111. Not sure if console has any way of accessing that, but probably not. Either way you can use M+KB on console, so that’s not an excuse.
