Honestly I uninstalled the game, I can’t deal with this nonsense anymore, taking a solid 3 month break and I’m gonna go play some good games for a change like gloomwood (anyone reading this, go check it out, dillon rogers is behind it and he’s one hell of a gamedev)

At this point, after getting chat banned for a year for a hilarious reason, after WW2 balance has been abandoned, I no longer feel the obligation to NOT camp the AF. I mean, I don’t sit there, but I use it to gain speed and alt and to reset fights.
Scummy?
Yes.
Not fair?

Do I care?
Well…
How many people have complained in this topic? It’s literally a few guys over and over + some newcomer every now and then. Which means… playerbase doesn’t care.
Do they care about plywood bug 2.0?
Nope.
Do they care about Yak-3 family running rampant along with Fireball and other pay2win premiums?
Nope.
Recently I noticed a single complaint about horribly pay2win T18E armored car. But that was like 1 mention in years.
So overal? Few people care, rest doesn’t.
So should I care?
Not really, it doesn’t help at the moment.
So I’ll just stop.
Maybe once chat ban ends in a YEAR I’ll go back to being decent.
Until then? I’m going to be the bad guy, knowing I’m a bad guy. But such is life.
I’m also buying the foliage bush B for maximum pay2win in ground RB.

  • Air RB missions now use the same sets of anti-aircraft guns and SAMs guarding the airfields as in Enduring Confrontation missions. The set of AA located at airfields depends on the session Battle Rating:
    • There used to be three sets of AA used at the following Battle Ratings: 1.0-2.7, 3.0-7.3, 7.7+.
    • There are now seven sets of AA used at the following Battle Ratings: 1.0-2.0, 2.3-3.3, 3.7-4.7, 5.0-6.3, 6.7-7.7, 8.0-10.3, 10.7+.

If I read this right, You can now make attacks on people near airfields in ARB if you are fast and erratic enough.

At least they could make it so the flak uses proyectiles instead of a timer based perfetly aimed hitscan attack.

I wish AAA was consistent.
Sometimes you get lasered the moment you think of entering within 3 km radius of AAA, and other times you have two planes circling 200 meters above you for more than 1 minute, preventing you from getting a clutch win while solo.

Im pretty sure is because of the fact that WW2 AAA is split in 2 parts

The long range Flak (4.5km to 1km)
and the SPAA / Small AA emplacements (1km and below)

The first one is the “main culprit”, it is the hitscan explosion that spawns near you
The second one actually uses proyectiles and very inconsistent AI, they have excellent aim, but seems like they have a random cooldown between bursts and don’t actually try to constantly aim towards you.
In case of emplacement doesn’t matter since they snap to position instantly, but SPAA have traverse rates that can be abused.

Can anyone tell me why Japan gets to have AA in the middle of the map on Iwo Jima for free? I assumed it wasn’t going to shoot me as I naively thought no way would the devs give a bubble of safety to an already very easy nation to play but oh boy I was sorely vexed when the aa started to kill my plane going 600 kph at 15 meters, we were winning the match against a 4 man squad of zeros in a 2 v 6 as well.

What a brilliant design Gaijin, please keep on destroying prop matches, how about lowering the timer down to 10 minutes next time and sticking forward airfields with AA smack right in the middle of the map so you can just reset any fight you start to lose next patch?

I admit this was written in frustration and might be a bit salty in tone but I think most here can sympathise and even agree with everything I said.

Well, at least you didn’t get curbstomped by M163 from 2km away while flying 4.3 Italian prop, lmao, so there’s some progress.

I’ve seen that happen a few times lately, did they reintroduce accurate aa defense for ground targets again? Because that would really suck, I don’t think anyone misses that at all…

On Iwo Jiima is no deadly airfield aaa in the middle of the map.

  1. Iwo Jiima has a standard airfield in the north-east (if you look from direct above) which has a large crane on it - and there are two very long landing strips (looking like a large “X”) at A point.

  2. The airfield aaa at A point is totally useless (i score there frequently) - so if you get killed by af aaa you might got too near to the actual airfield.

  3. The only other reason might be that gaijin hit you with their RNG hammer - if you play too long too successful even random midfield aaa (on any map) sets you on fire - happens every 2-5% of my matches.

Maybe worth to know:

  • You might not know the fact that Iwo Jiima is almost unwinnable for JP even if you play 1 vs 6 as the ticket mechanics favor US/UK teams. All you have to do is to stay alive and drag the JP players away from Iwo Jiima itself - to prevent them loading bombs and kill friendly landing craft.

  • And: Even a plain BR 3.3 Hellcat outruns any JP aircraft (above 6 km) - even in a full uptier. Sole exception: JP Fw 190 and JP P-51 C.

Games end usually after ~ 14-16 minutes with a ticket win for US/UK. You might think about checking and sharing the replay link.

I was actually playing energy and winning by juking the 6 zeros on their team, they had no chance to catch my FR1 unless I disconnected my brain

The AA that killed me was on the right side of the island, from the US side, some guy was landed, I went for a strafe, he jed out so I leveled out towards the right side and the AA started methodically turning my plane into an ikea set.

Yeah - “right side” is another expression for “north-east” from JP’s pov.

A great plane! Love it!

The plane is up to BR 4.7 “uncatchable” on certain altitudes even for the usual suspects playing anything outside JP (like La7s or Yak-3s) in a squad.

yeah you can keep your speed forever with low prop pitch, it’s great.

Yeah the old Pacific maps are just like that. There is another where (on japanese side) you’ll have AI Hellcats flying right over your airfield.
