Air Sim rewards and how to fix them

I dont know how much I really agree with that.

Its the only gamemode that promotes survival over reckless gameplay. Whilst yes, it has some major issues in that you can do too well and go unrewarded and that threshold isnt actually all that high. It does promote an almost “real world” playstyle where you would be more reserve and dying actually had consequences.

I agree with this and it’s also the only place to go for VR - VR works in 3rd person but there’s several disadvantages to the 3rd person view in WT in VR, especially on bombers (even in sim that’s an issue and a reason why I don’t fly bombers much anymore).

I also like you can choose different ways of playing in sim, it’s more of a choose your own adventure and there’s a lot less randomness (like the match maker).

Yep. I much prefer flying from a cockpit and with a HOTAS. I tried it in RB, but the disadvantage was too great.

and yeah, you can set yourself objectives/missions which is quite fun (though I wsih we had more in-game objectives with a wider range of type of misisons, including some with a higher challenge)

The problem is that you reach the cap really fast in higher tiers and then the “best” decision would be to hide behind your AF for 10 Min. That’s just stupid.

I agree, that surviving should be important and rewarded. That’s why I like the idea of the landing reward/multiplier.

But waiting for 10 Min. until your actions have a meaning again has nothing to do with surviving. It is just… waiting.

They could fix this problem easily by
-increasing the cap(these are points we earned)
-closing/resetting the useful action timeframe when you land(you returned to base, so time for debriefing and medals)
-and increasing the landing multiplier (as staying alive IS important)

But that would directly lead to a lower necessity of buying premium, so we can wait until the end of time for it.

Definitely feels like the goal.

Like, had a good match in my F4U-4B. Managed to max out a few useful action cycles.

Payout? 13K SL.

spawn cost? 8K SL (rounded).

With my 4.0 mustang I can now consistently make money. With my 5.7 corsair, I consistently lose money unless I RTB the moment I cap score and afk until it counts down.

This is the reward I got. This system is highly failure, ridiculous, and studied badly. #reworksim

I think the main problem is that sim is still the best place for bad and new players to grind pve and still get rewards.

I would just like to show

Five kills were not enought

That’s because 5 kills get you nothing significant over 2 kills It does increase rewards by… 3% at best.

Look at this:

image

More details here:
https://community.gaijin.net/issues/p/warthunder/i/BCFdF5ngLqtR

200 points = 54% reward
400 points = 75% reward
600 points = 86% reward
800 points = 90% reward
1050+ points = 92% reward

Only way to break even in some planes is to get ~600 score, fly back to base, circle your airfield for 15 minutes, land and then get 600 score again and repeat.

After 2 full UA cycles, you can afford to respawn a second time.

I just wanna show how dumb is this rewarding system. When its more about the time ratter than action

we know… they know…

They can’t even be bothered to give us the full reward…

150 data points proving it and ‘not a bug’

At least add the bonus RP gain per kill like in air rb, so that getting 4 kills in 15 mins gives you double the max useful action reward…

There is 0 reason NOT to add this. It can’t really be abused & it gives a bit of purpose to not getting one kill and going afk. I had an enemy F15E take off, shoot off his guided bombs in a ground battle and then keep turning around the airfield for the rest 13 minutes doing nothing. And this guy earned the same rewards as his team’s Eurofighter that managed to beat 2 guys in a dogfight, kill a whole bomber formation, and win a BVR fight vs someone else…

How is this allowed???

The current system is so absurd that I always end up losing money. I don’t care anymore, I don’t play to research or make money, I play to have fun. But it’s not enough to kill 10 planes.
The moment you die 2/3 times you start losing Money.
In the end I fly the planes I like to enjoy the game, I’ve only played sim since 2014 but nowadays it’s unbearable. In the end you accept it and just fly.

Is it true that Sim has a CAP now? I had paused war thunder for a longer period of time and now it feels like Sim is not worth playing anymore. What happend to all the rewards for the time and work spend?

In RB, I can relax and shoot down guys with my mouse in one hand and my d*ck in the other and get a decent amount of rewards.

Gaijin described Sim battles with 2x the amound of SL and RP compared to the other modes.

In Sim I have work to do. I can not go and take a shit while on a mission. I can not play with my d*ck while shooting down guys and I have to stay committed. But somehow my commitment is no longer valued. We only have this usefull actions and when we reach certain amount of points we are capped?
For all the commitment? Gaijin can’t be serious.

Thats what I made in less than 17 Minutes full of commitment back in the day:
(132.278 SL and 65.989 RP for 17 Minutes bombing run)

My personal best:
(630.632 SL and 233.985 RP for 10 Minutes Bombing AF, doing Objectives and leading the team to win.)

And since last couple days I am back I tried to make some points with my Premium A-10 and wanted to get this vehicle to a good use. See this nightmare for your self. 46 Minutes of Commitment for nothing.

Please folks tell me that this actual Sim Economy situation is just temporary. Flying Sim was my way to go have some fun and grind the deck. I can’t stand Air RB and AB. Its unskilled point and click flying adventure and nothing else. I want my good old Air SB back. Please.

Regards.

It’s been here for a year.

It will stay for longer.

And it’s even worse than described because if you get a useful actions pop up, stay in the air for another 15 minutes (or landed before the first popup and didn’t land until the second) - you lose the first landing bonus.

Thats one of the best rounds I could manage so far. Had an M23 and Su29 hunting me down every single ground strike attempt. So I was not able to land safe once.

I think the post-battle report screen would be more telling. Look at the spawn costs (even with premium).

200 points = 54% reward
400 points = 75% reward
600 points = 86% reward
800 points = 90% reward
1050+ points = 92% reward

Is this repeatable per match? Or does it end with 1050+ Points and doing more e.g. 3000+ points is worthless? If so I should start matchhopping e.g. grinding 1050+ points, Land and switch server. This can’t be the logic behind this nonesense.

regards.

checked it after I have seen your post. 68k repair cost. I dont care since I do all this for RP not SL.
