whats happened with brackets? who thought its a good idea to sell 12.7 premiums and then make almost the whole weeks 13.0, where its full of ARH missiles? for a german f18 its even worse: almost all the time ALL the ARHs are on the opposite team and none in yours. awesome balance.

Sim has rotating brackets, not automatic matchmaker.
Coincidentally, January 9 and 10 are 11.7-12.7 days. Weekend, in other words. Ideal day, in other words.

With a few exceptions (e.g. 13.0 which has 2 rotations and 14.0 which has none), all BR’s have exactly one rotation where they are top BR. That’s perfectly normal.
As other said: play something else when the rotation doesn’t favour a specific aircraft!

when i bought the f18 it was much more often, than now, but i dont have the current bracket list.
i didnt right sessions down, but it seems like a bullshit. or its extremely unlucky of me to get into the game, avoiding exactly those days. because almost every time i get into the game, which is at least every other evening lately, its either 13.3 or 13.0

No, the rotations are like this since August 2025, they didn’t change during the event.
Before, it was like this, with 12.3, 13.3. and 13.7 never being top BR in any rotation, and 13.0 top BR in two rotations:
No need to write it down aftewards, the schedule is fix, as I said since August 2025, when the range was extended to 14.3 and the rotations adjusted to be more fair.
I even have the brackets on my smartphone’s calendar widget, so I know every day what BR 's are top BR’s , and thus what to play.
Also, don’t just “Take Part” from Sim’s main window, but select “Room List” that opens the list from all currently running games, from which you can select what to play, even on what map. There you also easily see what BR-brackets the current rotation has…
yeah, i know. thats what im doing most of the time - sometimes room list is just not loading. especially if im trying to host a map. and thats why im seeing br im facing every time im playing the game.
well i dont know what to say then. i dont have any lists to show, except for my memory. i just dont see how such a coincidence can occur - through all the maraphon ive seen 12.7 exactly once and i did the whole maraphon, all the stars, in airsim.
usually it was “checking if i can fly f18, i dont want to because of the bracket and i go fly something top tier, that doesnt depend on a bracket list”
Given the strongest by far ARH slinger at 13.0 is German, and should be the same BR as the F3 Late… Im not really sure what the issue is.
most of the bluefor 13.0 ARH slingers are actually on par with the F-18C. (AV-8B(NA), Sea Harrier FA2). Only one that might be an issue is the Kfir C10.
That being said, they need to decompress that BR bracket significantly. but dont expect to never see ARH in your F-18C. I still think it would be 0.3 off the weakest of the ARH slingers
the ICE? really? so not the couple of f14, not the c10 with esa radar and not a harrier, but the ICE with no hud? why?
F-14 has the easiest to defeat ARH missiles in-game, unless you have a really bad RWR, you should never be killed by those (F-18 does not have a bad RWR). The RWR is limited iirc, and the radar also has its issues. F-14As dont even have all-aspect, and the F-14B doesnt have IRCCM
C10, whilst it has an excellent radar, has no IRCCM and a very limited missile total. Its a good airframe sure, with an excellent radar, but it does have significant limitations. Also there is a debate to be had that AMRAAM is better than Derby in a lot of situations.
Harriers are subsonic, Which inherrently limits what they can do and how they can operate. FA2 even has an incredibly limited loadout. One of the most restricted in the game imo. Only aircraft more restricted is probably the AJ37/AJS37
ICE is supersonic with okay handling, decent radar, decent RWR, with 4x IRCCM and 4x AMRAAM. The closest equivalent is the Tornado F3 Late currently at 13.3. Quite frankly. the F3 Late should either be 13.0 or the ICE should be 13.3. There is no reason for them to differ in BR.
i get, that premium f18 are almost C variants. but the difference between having ARH or SARH is gigantic, when you facing a bunch of ARH slingers in every match.
Maybe, but Id still argue the FA2 is closer in performance to the F-18C than any other ARH slinger in-game at the moment despite having ARH and I think it should be 12.7 until such time they fix the Harriers
ARH doesnt automatically make an aircraft better than one without.
Heck. If im not careful in the FA2, im a free kill for any of the pure Fox-2 slingers
which changes absolutely nothing. you still need to do it and while you are doing it, they can do whatever they want. and they have a bunch of them. it easy to play, so there is a bunch of them around.
and we can stop on excellent everything, but the quantity of missiles and IRCCM, which is not working, like, at all, if an opponent knows how to turn off the afterburner.
well, thats true, but at least AV-8b have an existing HUD, which is important in sim, isnt it? actually, im assuming here, because i dont own a harrier - not a fan of them.
so its a okeish radar, rwr and no HUD with 4 amraams. probably thats why im seeing them once every several maps.
ive actually thought about getting a crew for it and putting it to work at least sometimes, but flying a phantom airframe with no HUD made it look like a bad idea. and it seems im not alone in this.
also there is JA39DI, which is premium from discounts and there is a whole pack of them, despite them having only 4 ARHs.
so, as i see it, we are defining the “best” differently. because your best seems to be the least popular, because the others, excluding harrier, are easier to get.
