I noticed it a little less with older aircraft because the difference in aircraft technology isn’t as big, but you’re right. There needs to be a lot more consistency in actual aircraft ability and technology across the board.
Why would you take the r60m over the r27r or r27t?
You forgot about F-2A ADTW and Ariete
It is pretty logical if you’re goal is to sell premium aircraft.
They are getting R-73 in the next major update. Though being limited to only 2x R-27ER is the only reason they arent 13.0+
F-2A ADTW: 13.0 in sim
F-16AJ: also 13.0 in sim
Nevermind that the F+15A is a better plane in basically every relevant way and gets to sit at 12.7BR.
with an increase in br, so… in the end nothing will really change and that’s sad. Lucky me soon it’s my bday, gonna update my pc and prob finally quitting this game for a better sim.
Even with R-73s I’d rather be in a plane that has a digital RWR, a good CM count, and good endurance compared to a Mig-29. In air RB I could see some argument that the 13.0 Mig-29s are on par with the F-15A, but in sim they’re just worse.
The MiG-29 at 13.0 is going to be basically a worse alternative to F-2A ADTW, Gripen, and other Aim-9M Equipped F-16s.
It won’t stop people from whinging about R-27ER or R-73.
Well even without increasing its br, at 12.7 r-73’s won’t make it an op or overperforming aircraft, especially considering the constant uptier due to the current premium spam. Its FM is still a joke and I guess we’ll have to unlock those new fox-2 despite having a spaded aircraft. Total nonsense, not worth the effort at the current state.
This might be correct but that point is incomprehensible to the average poster in the WT Sim subforum. Most posters only play one side of a matchmaker and anything that manages to kill them is “OP”.
Morvran post history in regards to sim and balancing is peak comedy.
I forgot we are in the sim subforum. Well, I spent most of my time in sim flying underdog planes, because everyone wants to play the meta or the so called bluefor, ended up facing multiple enemies in an inferior aircraft (usually something like 9/10 vs 2/3). Mig-29 was “OP” only when just added, right after that… not so special.
Sim is highly unbalanced, from props to jets. The few good planes on the less popular side just received, during the years, an increase in both br and repair cost (and sometimes also a big nerf in performances). That’s why I stopped playing WT for almost 2 years and I’ve reinstalled IL-2 series.
I’d prefer if the mode got a little attention from the devs, instead of giving up and playing a game that’s quite different. I think sim players have put enough money into the game for it to get at least a couple of updates
It doesnt sound like a joke, it literally is a joke. Apollo summed it up perfectly with this gem:
Then to top it all off, they add the r73 to yak141 - a jet with a much better fm and radar - and keep it at 12.7. Phenomenal…it’s surely too incompetent to be unintentional at this point, they just hate the mig lmao
I’m sorry I have to tell this, but they don’t care, they never did. sim mode always been treated like that and I started playing sim more than 10 years ago.
indeed, gaijin pretty much gave up on sim a couple years after release - left it with a single person to check in with sim development for ages and then even that guy went awol. They say see no one plays sim so we wont develop it > people leave cause sim has no development or maintenance > cycle repeats year after year
that’s a shame and a bad marketing decision. So many players quitted during the years. we could have had the same player base as air rb, a game with so much potential, so many vehicles and they screwed up everything.
Once I’ get a better pc I’ll move away too. I can’t stand anymore this kind of attitude
ik, its a real shame and such a missed opportunity. Gaijin has to be one of the most cashed up game dev’s out there and could’ve put just the bare minimum into it’s sim mode and easily fleshed it out into something more engaging and dynamic, similar to what nuclear option has done. That alone would likely have captured most of the simming market, even at the current WT fidelity.
And that’s why, imho, they’re pushing so much with high tier premiums, because sim apart, even those ones playing other modes are getting enough. They just refuse to listen and it’s sad that the community still doesn’t understand that WE have the power, the customers, but as long as they released shiny and modern vehicles there will always be someone spending money in this game
