Air RB/SB **Proposed** BR change list

Flight model equates to nothing at this BR. Hence

What 12.0 plane is going to even remotely stand a chance against an F-16A in a merge? What plane at 12.0 even has relevant radar missiles that cannot easily be multipathed?

Lets go off the BR it actually plays 90% of the time- 12.0- 13.0

Off the top of my head F18a, F18cs, mig23, mig29, flankers, F3 tornado (late), J8

Then at 12.0 BR theres magic 2 carriers tornado F3, phantoms

Like the stats show, its not doing so well, even at 12.0 it wouldnt dominate…

I could see putting the V3 up 0.3 higher than the V1/V2… but 6.7 is too low I think.

I have only spaded the V1, but I did so when it was 8.0, with a positive KD. That said, the Sabres were still 8.3+ and the guns were pre-nerf. Even without the crazy bullet velocity of the old guns, 6.7 is a 1.3 BR drop. A 6.7 R2Y2 V1 would crap all over the props it saw if it held its speed.

It seemed perfectly fine at 9.3 It was 9.7 not too long ago. Too fast for 9.0. Good players that use it as an interceptor are pretty much untouchable.

Maybe don’t try to dogfight an F-16A.

I definitely agree with you on not worsening compression. But I think there’s a difference between the ideal (raise max BR) and what will actually happen. I was trying to make my recommendations based on the cap staying at 14.3 for now, but I definitely see your point on how the UK Phantoms are in a weird spot.

I was thinking about them from the standpoint of the planes they face in an uptier (which is statistically the majority of matches). With the cap at 14.3, it’s hard to reconcile an F-4J(UK) that can see F/A-18A only 0.3 higher, F-14A only 0.7 higher, and ARH in a full uptier with the fact that it is probably too good to face 10.3s. Maybe 11.7 is the sweet spot (given the constraints of the current cap), or maybe getting AIM-9L and staying 12.0 is better. After all, we already have strong planes with all aspect missiles at 11.0 (MiG-21bis family).

Now if Gaijin wanted to give us a real Xmas present and decompress to 15.0+, that’s a different story!

Except the R2Y2 V1 accelerates about as well as an Me-262A-1a, which most people can agree is 6.3-6.7 material. The R2Y2 V1 has to my observation a lower top speed but more maneuverability - even stock I liken it to a jet-powered A7M2. I stand behind my proposal for that one for that reason.

The V2 being a slight improvement over the V1 by being less draggy, and the V3 being less draggy still allow those to be 7.0 and 7.3, respectively.

“If it held its speed” only applies until it starts to turn - and yet you need to turn to acquire firing solutions on anything that isn’t a bomber or a tunnel-visioned fool. And if a diving prop is coming after you, any and all attempts to dodge only slow you further and make you easier for the prop to kill, just like with 262s.

R2Y2s got their 8.0 stats from originally being implemented as “jet bombers” which spawned at 4000m altitude and farmed all the B-29s. They once had repair costs exceeding 75k in RB due to this.

Let them disagree, or prove with live gameplay about how supposedly “good” the 262A models are under non-ideal conditions.

262As cannot compete against even the likes of Banshees, nevermind La-200s, MiG-15s, or Sabres.

Then what else do you suggest? It’s one of the worst 12.3 aircraft, especially after the F-18 spam

Worst case scenario it does too well at 12.0 and gets moved back to 12.3

Decompression…

Gaijin moves glacially so it would simply further ruin the BR bracket for a year+

Definitely worse than the fa18 for normal games but it can’t go to 12.0 as it would nuke everything

You have never played sim…so this is some amazing advice.
Please explain how you would avoid dogfighting a plane that is also faster than you…so that if you try to run away from it…it catches up to you and gets a free kill? Do you really think that the F-16A is the equal to the F4S Phantom?

the 262 was always a glorified bomber hunter first and fighter last, the guns are literally not designed for fast flying targets, and the lack of an air break just makes it flat out unable to dogfight effectively compared to all the other 7.0 jets it’s just flat out worse I seriously doubt you have better stats in the 262 than anything else.

Don’t think you’re really following the plot.

How about, and I might sound crazy here don’t dogfight it. The F-4J/S are terrible dogfighters, the whole point of them is launching Sparrows.

Multipathing/notching…

F16 at 12.0 would be just as OP as J7e at 11.0
