So i laughed out loud when i saw a request to balance towards the majority. It is the same like lowering recruiting standards for Armed Forces - it simply weakens the combat effectiveness in a battle - and in wt it prevents the need to improve.
Right… gotta love comparing entering the literal military to a video game.
WT has to appeal to the majority of its playerbase, its as simple as that.
favorite cc on yt (DEFYN) uses mouse aim and instructor.
And this is bad… why? If you dont want mouse aim, thats what sim is for.
That is funny. I consider air RB waaaay more relaxing then air AB. In RB, you can take off, make a coffee, and come back, and aside from runway sacrifices, nothing has happened yet.
You cannot have one or the other. To improve the game would involve removing the gamemode and replacing it entirely. Since the mode by functionality has prioritized fighters as the centric. With bombers and other vessels to the sidelines. The issue is, it should be the opposite. Bombers and other vehicles should take priority over fighters. This means you would be telling people to defend the bombers. Then go do their own thing aka fight other fighters.
Or how about you actually address the points I brought up…?
Yeah, I dont play air RB- I find it boring af, and climbing for 10m at the start doesnt interest me. However, that doesnt mean I cant point out blindingly obvious issues with your logic, nor does it mean I cant offer my opinion on these things.
A discussion requires the willingness to understand others and their opinions - and an honest interest in deviating opinions. And opinions are except things like faith (or religion in general) based on facts gained by actual knowledge - everything else are believes.
So in the best case both parties benefit by listening to (deviating) fact based opinions - as seeing certain topics from different angles is actually interesting if the other party is able to present them in a proper manner.
The goal of a discussion is not to determine who is right or wrong. The goal is to identify underlying motivations which created deviating opinions and the underlying facts which support them. So in a best case both parties reflect their own positions and might revise their pov on their own.
It makes zero sense to discuss anything with people which have just a fact-free opinion and lack any experience or actual knowledge about the topics they are talking about.
I asked you to understand my reluctance to continue with our exchanges and you still feel the need to continue. So i execute my right to ignore others if i see no benefit for me. Quite simple.
sigh
That is your right, still seems rather dumb to me, especially since it came just as I started to actually question your points.
as seeing certain topics from different angles is actually interesting if the other party is able to present them in a proper manner.
ah, so my perspective as an AB player isnt a valid angle to offer my opinions on, got it… even though the reason I dont play rb air is bc of how it is currently, and I want it to be made better so I will play it
Like damn, can you just set aside the person for a second and think about what they are saying first?
update after update we’re getting newer and newer jets, but the gamemode remains the same. spawn, fly for 2 minutes, die in furball or slamwipe the enemy team.
alot of the core gripes people have with air RB right now could all be fixed with one incredibly simple solution;
AIR RB EC.
This means that there probably wont be a giant furball in the middle of the map, as everything is a lot more spread out and over a bigger area (look at the denmark map in SIM for instance) so this will please the people who strongly dislike (and rightfully so) the ‘phonebooth’ fighting that air RB is now, where 120+ spamraams get slung and you cannot dodge them all at the same time.
people can use their planes to the fuller potential; wanna fly an SU27/j11/su30 whatever, turn off your radar and use IRST to be sneaky and not set of enemy RWR’s. NATO planes could also fly to their full potential and their role.
not to mention the possibilities it opens up for strike aircraft. no more racing to a bomb point hoping to not get shot down by the enemy (or a friendly that wants the points really badly) before you drop your bombs. A10’s can actually attack convoys with their A2G ordnance, instead of being basically free RP and SL pinatas for the faster jets (this also goes for tornadoes, phantoms and other strike or ground attack based planes)
this will allow for a more realistic playstyle overall, where you can plan out your route a bit more if you want to, instead of just turning off your brain and following your team, hoping the R77 or amraam isnt pitbulling on you but on your teammate.
sidenote: in my opinion this will help also with people being able to actually climb and use altitude, instead of hugging the ground.
these are some main positives about this mode’s potential, and i genuinely dont get why its not implemented yet at 10.0 and higher.
the main argument against this is server costs, but lets be real guys, theyre selling 4+ premium vehicles every update that people WILL buy (80$ f18 for instance). they have the money to expand the servers lol. anybody who denies this is wilfully ignoring it.
Not sure what is stopping gaijin from adding EC but for RB as a separate game mode.
Shouldnt even be hard to do, since it is just combining an already existing game mode with already existing maps and adding a new plaque for it in the options.
Just giving EC maps with a single airfield in ARB isnt gonna cut it. It is even less fun than normal ARB maps.
I mean it is quite obvious why gaijin is reluctant to do this:
A new game mode will increase queue times
Matches on larger maps last way longer which increases queue times too
The majority of players is not interested in tactical or strategic game play
Depending on player commitment they would have to invent a new economy for this “new” mode - alone the longer match duration increases rp gains like hell as the majority of RP income in Air RB is created by scoring in a match whilst staying alive as long as possible
So if the majority of players want either instant action or a plain simple grinding tool anything more time consuming which requires some know-how and patience is not in gaijin’s interest.
Even if larger (EC) maps makes sense for Mach 2 jets - these maps are a pain at prop BRs. An old post giving an example:
We will see what happens when gaijin actually introduces strategic jet bombers as leaked a few days ago…
It is not up to me to decide if this a problem or not - its gaijin’s game and they decide what is a problem or not.
But over the years it looks like that queue times and their striving to balance the the game to 50% WR on average (which is seen as the Holy Grail within MMO games) are extremely important for gaijin.
And as mentioned earlier (somewhere else): This game is a game optimized to be played by kids which are not as patient as you and want instant action…
