Aim54 is skill check. Aim9m is solid.

the jank between the 9m and aim7 are incomparable. the aim9m is just occasionally goofy but the aim7f/m are just absurd. theyre not the same level of jank.

I have maybe a 5% fail/goofy rate for sparrows. Possibly lower. Massively overblown issue.
Based off what. I literally just put in a report for its maneuverability being too low, although I suspect its high altitude performance is overperforming and low altitude performance underperforming judging from hud footage released from rus mod.
Its seekerhead is definitely underperforming though.
Although in general most fox 3s are underperforming in key areas (aim-120a in energy retention, aam4 in motor/range (although it’s overperforming in maneuverability), pl-12 being modeled off sd-10 instead of sd-10a, etc).

it depends on the plane thats launching them
I was playing the f4j recently and it was 20-30 percent of launches where the sparrow just wouldnt work

ok so show clips of this, cause 90% of the time I’ve seen its some guy launching them in awful ways
dont have clips of it because dont record or anything
but I had multiple times where it just flew off into space even when launched with a good closure rate

I’m just saying that they work well in my experience and nobody has proved to me they have issues that actually impact them more than 5% of launches, likely because the issues are overblown massively.
as I said it depends on radar
they work fine on stuff with stronger radars but f4j is pretty finicky
and, as I’ve said, I have not seen any evidence you are correct
play something with a crap radar and sparrows for like 30-40 matches then go to something with a good radar

they were noticeably worse at tracking when I was playing f4j recently, could have been server issues too, but I was switching off with f4e and they felt better on that

F-4E radar is far weaker than F-4J radar so this would not help your hypothesis.
F4J radar is a lot more finicky than F4E radar though
also sometimes F4E radar will lock for look down shots that F4J might not
its radar is kinda insane sometimes
