You won’t have a very good grasp of missile behavior from datamines. You really need to experience them for yourself.

While R-77 can reach it’s max range of 80km, when used properly (with good launch parameters, on a straight coming aircraft, of course)
Anyway, MiCA’s range is >80km irl when AIM-120A/B are 75km max… 😓

There is already a 67km kill confirmed (So, more than 50km) and I think Gaijin make a confusion between kilomètres and miles (50miles =~80km) and after all the MICA worth 600 000$ each, maybe it can explain performance IRL…
Hum it doesn’t spoke about the variant but that’s an old page so MICA NG wasn’t on the rail I think…

I suppose and as i red it on other threads, micas where artificially nerfed to balance the current fox 3 meta. I dont really understand that point because imo aim120 dominate top tier for no real reason:
.Aim 120 first version are max 50/60km reach ingame against 80 to 180km irl depending of the version.
.R77 50km ingame? 80km irl.
.The newest Derby 20km ingame and irl.
I dont know about the others but i see most of the missiles have 70 to 100% max theoric reach when the micas have 20%.
I really hope when new missiles are added they fix it to 50/80km as they should be or add other micas version so we have a long range armement as well.

Logically the R-77 will never reach the 80km range target. I still retain my opinion that the MICA goes further.

The game ain’t hard to use and make trials.
The only problem might come from the game giving us AI in 1 spot circling.
(I have MICA-EM and AIM-120A, but i don’t have R-77, yet from experience R-77 is shot before i can shot the MICA-EM)
Serious question how many people here are regularly hitting 25-30km AIM120 launches to make this guy so upset? I get one every so often whenever I do play ARB at top tier. But normally 25km is the lock I wait for before I even begin to decide to let it loose.
Outside of that range I normally use it as a vector to force them defensive and close. Which the mica would serve the same purpose.
Now I am not a good pilot but I don’t get what he’s really asking for. I see people(CC’ers) use the mica and they all praise how easy it is to get way off bore shots in closer range. Which I now are much harder with an aim120.
Mica is very good at shorter ranges, where AMRAAM isn’t quite so good
