I don’t know when or how this started but whenever I try to intercept groups of them, they accelerate and crash head-on me

Well, you see, when you fly headfirst into a group of planes, they will actually fly towards you as well. This, dictated by the laws of common sense, is why planes will fly straight at you. In order to counter this, you must learn the art of first, having a brain, and secondly, learning how to steer out of the way.
