I understand that some systems might be a slight leap forward in our current self-propelled anti-air capabilities, but we must be honest with ourselves. With the introduction of aircraft such as the F-15E, Raphael, Eurofighter, and Su-34, the current Self Propelled Anti-Air just doesn’t cut it anymore. Not even the Pantsir, revered for its sheer dominance can defy much of the current aircraft in-game. Furthermore, Even the Game Director, Viacheslav Bulannikov, agrees that the balance between Aircraft and Ground Vehicles has become unstable and boring.
With this being a problem, I believe it’s about time the next generation of systems starts rolling into play. With this being the case, enter the SPYDER. I’m sure this SPAA doesn’t need much of an introduction.
The SPYDER wouldn’t be a far cry from a fair contender against our best aircraft in-game. With its missiles capable of active radar homing similar to Fox-3 missiles currently found on board much of the competition at those brackets, it can fight back against the fire and forget spam found on those pesky CAS monsters. The range, while greater than that of the Pantsir, would even the playing field for ground forces against the unchecked hoards of Close Air Support dominating the match pool.
On the lesser end of fixing this issue, we find the HVDS ADAMS. While certainly not as capable as the SPYDER, it wouldn’t push the limits of our current SPAA in-game and would greatly help alleviate Israel’s current lack of any proper high-tier SPAA.
I agree with all exept what u said about the pantsir
The pansir is still very capable and even op spaa and now with the new tor the red team has another very good spaa
Between the Strela and the ADAMS I think things would be pretty sufficiently covered until the next generation of SAMs come in. The ADAMS’s missiles have a range of either 12 or 20km iirc.
While the Pantsir is certainly the best SPAA in the game, it is still woefully underperforming compared to modern CAS weapon systems. Missiles such as the Kh-38, outrange the Pantsir by more than double.
You can imagine that if the Pantsir is having a hard time, then every other SPAA in the game is helpless.
And to make it worse, the Pantsir doesn’t usually have to deal with them since they’re normally on the same team.
(but that’s a whole different conversation)
more specifically, SPYDER can use derbys and python 4 & 5. the pythons specifically are aim-9X level, if not better. which means this AA should have both good AA capabilities against long ranged CAS. and also be able to shoot down closer threats like hellis or a random guy with a stukah at 11.7 for some reason
Then lets use another example. Missiles such as the late generation AGM-65 models such as the G and D as well as the Brimstone still manage to comfortably outrange the Pantsir. This doesn’t take into account all the new GPS-guided glide bombs that these aircraft carry in bulk. The new Raphael will also be receiving GPS-guided ordinance capable of tracking moving targets independently and comfortably outside of the Pantsir’s range.
Now imagine if any other SPAA had to deal with that. We’re in dire straights if nothing is done.
There is early versions of the spyder with only python 4 and derby which are isnt that good it wont even be top tier spaa cuz lack of range so that could come with no issues
