AFK Matches, and Inactivity

How is it possible that people in there Bombers can still run away/climb to orbit and not lose tickets when they are the last person in the Team? how is this fair? If you the last player in the team and you did not have any action in the last 10 Minutes you should count as left and the tickets should run down.

Or we need longer battles again so wen can deal with this kind of stuff. Or we get Trucks like in the lower tier Matches you can destroy, and if you destroy them you can take most of the enemy Tickets. This would be fair.

That guy in the 12th place just droped a few Bombs and run away. I get it he wants to stay alive, thats not my problem. The Problem is that he wins a Match he would have never won. And this is not the first time this happens, it happens all the time and it so annoying. You have a really good match but still lose bc one guy can simply just run away and wait. We a rewark of that asap!

Last man standing was the chinese character in a B29 at 21:30min.
Your team didn’t chase him early game and he takes the chance to climb away to stay alive. His team bleeded tickets more than yours, so he won.

Fair battle.

…that such threads are popping up every few days / weeks?

They always follow the same pattern:

  • The game is unfair as certain matches were lost by tickets
  • Enemy PvE players won by running away from PvP players

If you watch the replays of those games, they usually prove 2 things:

  1. The complaining player (like in this case) has severe deficits in understanding how the game actually works
  2. Those players made usually one or 2 strategic mistakes (also in this case) and tries to blame the game for their mistakes - instead of acting like men and take the responsibility for their mistakes.

Everybody can watch the replay:

Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On

  • Your basic mistake was that you did not stop your ticket bleed after 10-13 minutes. You played 3 vs 3 with 3.000 tickets behind - against 2 bombers and 1 fighter.

  • Every really smart player kills at this time ai planes to stop his own ticket bleed in case one of the last guys will run (what actually happened). You actually killed on one of those ai planes, but you and your 2 teammates decided to rtb.

  • You lost the match at this point as your ticket disadvantage became irrecoverable - so your last 2 kills were useless regarding the outcome.

  • You show in your screen a ticket defeat by ~ 1.500 vs 3.000 tickets. That means nothing more that the remaining 4-5 enemy ai planes murdered your tickets - but your own ai planes were more effective as they reduced the enemy ticket advantage from 3.000 to 1.500 points in ~ 10 minutes. If you had killed the enemy ai planes fast enough you would have won.

  • Late game vehicle spawn happens just on a few very old revised maps. Asking for declaring a B-29 at 10 km (not afk) as inactive just in order to give you a win is a joke. As described by the fellow player above: You ignored the B-29 early game, tried to win by TDM and lost.

  • As such things happens to you frequently (your words) - this looks more like a “you” problem, and not a “them” issue. Learn how the game works.

I recently had a battle, where in a 3v1 scenario, when enemies had a huge tickets advantage, two of my teammates decided to chase the only player left in the enemy team, the F-104:

I’m a newbie in Air Realistic and jets, but even I know that the F-104 is a very fast plane, you can’t really catch it. So I was the only player in my team, who actually tried to win this battle, and it was still very close. I managed to get a win in the last seconds.

I’m not complaining, because long battles mean good RP rewards. In this case I got 54k RP, which is absolutely crazy. But it’s a fact, we could have won this battle much quicker if only my teammates had done what they were supposed to do. Not that I particularly care about winning, but it always gives you more rewards, so I would rather win than lose.

1: ts not possible to kill AI planes when you have to kill players

2: He was not spotted and now one knew where he was so it was not even possiblem to attack him in the first place. Just climbing and flying around while my team got killed by the enemy and losing tickets would have had the same result.

And we forgett that i had a Meteor, we have the same problem from 2.0 to 8.0 but unlike the Meteor, 4.0 planes cant even climb that fast or if its Italien at all.

3: Killing these AI planes dont steal enough tickets to make it equal (already tested that)

4: These truckes would give you at least the same chance to win or make it equal when someone is AFK climbing.

The fact that it is even possiblem to reduce the ticket count that much without even playing the PvP part is the worst part about it + that fact that we have a ticket bleed and shorter matches. They could increas the match time to 30 or 60 min and this would solve so many problems.

And im pretty sure you are one of the people who purly go for AI targets to win matches bc otherwise no one would support this kind of behavior. and crush any attempts or suggestions to have a better game experience and not losing matches bc of PvE players like you.

So… you finally discovered how the game works? Congrads.

So the enemies deserve the win.

This just means that the enemies played well. One killed many ground targets and the other fighters drag your attention so that you can’t go for AI targets.

That’s because your team let those hostile AI planes do ground pounding for too much time.

PvE is a part of air RB, just like PvP, and will never get removed.

Anyways you should learn how the game works, instead of thinking like “Oh I’m good at fighter so I should win, and it’s unfair for attackers and bombers to win by killing ground targets …”

By the way:

Do you know why the match time is 25min now? It was 60min several years ago. In a 60min battle I could camp the airfield for a kinda 40min while there’s no available ground targets for your team to kill (even if your team has advantage on tickets, I just try best to waste your time), so that players like you complained much more. So finally, 25min battle.

You proved the opposite, you killed an ai plane in a phase when both teams decided to rtb (except the high B-29).

The replay showed the B-29’s contrail right at at the start on your right side. You just ignored this contrail or you did not saw it.

It’s not about getting equal tickets with killing ai planes alone - your main goal is to prevent them to kill more of your own tickets so that your ticket deficit does not increase, the ticket drop for killing an ai plane is just a bonus.

If your team had used their brains they would have killed all enemy ai planes in the quiet phase after 10-13 minutes - and you would have won…as explained earlier.

As written earlier: These late spawn 3 x 6 trucks are just implemented on a few very old maps like Poland, Sicily or Stalingrad. Knowing where they spawn (and where not) is also a skill. The ticket impact comes from destroying the clusters as a whole. 1.500 tickets deficit is on maps with those trucks is decisive - play some matches on those old maps and you will see that they kill not enough tickets.

I have serious doubts that you are actually able to assess others and their motivations whilst they play wt (with what kind of goals) if you struggle to understand basic game mechanics.

Being or playing smart has nothing to do with PvP or PvE. You are angry because you lost due to wrong decision making and try to blame the game set up for your own mistakes.

If you try to improve yourself - take the feedback given here as an opportunity to learn. And you might get better at the game and learn to take responsibility for your own actions.

Example how to win a match on tickets

In order to give you an example of how to win a match just with some brain power you might invest 15 minutes and watch this replay:

Gaijin Entertainment - Single Sign On

  • I played the last 15 minutes of a 25 minutes match 1 vs 2 (my last friendly was in a Ki-49). I played with a ticket lead as my team bombed some bases and killed some ground ai - and the enemy team focused on PvP.
  • My two opponents played very well, covered each other perfectly and one of them was good enough to score 3 kills - despite i shot off his left horizontal stabilizer.
  • As both enemies turn well enough with a B7A2 i could not risk to “over-commit” to one of them as i would get 3rd partied by the other guy, so i kept pushing them low and prevented them from climbing. And as a side effect, they could not risk to kill my ai planes or my ground units to close the ticket gap.
  • I maintained alt advantage until they decided to rearm - i killed then 3 ai planes and one ground unit and climbed back to altitude in order to control the battle for the last 6 minutes.
  • As they covered each other even during the repairs/rearming they lost too much time and positioning - they had zero chance to close the gap or to kill me or my Ki 49 mate.
  • All in all my 2 adversaries scored 6 kills together, but they underestimated the ticket situation and traded six kills for losing the game.

1: If you want to call it that. Yes, then the enemy team played well by flying around AFK

2: i know thats why i mean, winning with AI ingame machanic that gives you an auto win and rewards passiv playing.

3: I know how the game works, im saying that is a stupid machanic. Im not saying that Attackers should have less an impact on a game, but winning it by playing it like PvE game without you having a chance to do much is stupid. They also removed the possibility to end a game, now you have the same with attackers.

4: That is a very strange statement: They removed by people camped the AF, but they added enough grund targets and machanics to win a game with AI. Its like adding something to reduce a problem but also removing the problem and now having other problem just in the other direction :D

By increasing the time you give both sides the chance to end the game, either by killing the last guy running away or by killing the ground targets if the last guy is camping the AF. Problem solved.

1: Yeah that what i meant was from another match.

2: Well thats true but that doest change the fact that it would not have changed the match. either the enemy fighters killing the last tickets or this b-29 climbing to orbit.

3: But thats the problem? have you ever played 7.3 ish Br? The enemy F-84Gs have already killed half of your tickets before the fighters even get there. Or do you really wanna tell a Bomber should hunt them down. At this Br this problem is massiv the PvE players take away your tickets before you can react, when you are unlucky enough and your are the only good pilot the game is over before it realy started. Its not 1,2 or 3 matches. This happens a few times a day. And thats just stupid. Befor you fired your first shoot you have to catch up with the tickets. you need to kill ground targets but if you do that you are a easy pick for the enemy fighters. We have a problem and this should be solved by either decrease the impact on the tickets, giving us more time, giving us targets we can kill at the end to make it equal. or reducinng the ticket bleed.

4: There a total of 3 groups so thats 4.500 tickets which is usually enough to win a match. And your statemate is just wrong bcx this would already solve the run away and autowin problem. I won so many matches by killing these targets bc the last bomber was at 7k and just killed the remaining fighters.

5: I never struggled to understand the game, i understand it very well thats why i already offered some options that would have an immediate impact on the current problem.

Im not even angry even thought its a massiv problem. And anything i did was right in a pure PvP game i have dominated all enemy players. and lost to a boring autowin machanic.

Im already one of the Top 3000 players i know what im doing. But that was also not the reason why i created this topic. Something needs to be done to make if fair for everyone. Like i already said the removed one problem and cearted anothert.

As of today i am (i play solo only) at place 383 (4 week view) regarding WR in Air RB. Stats are imho just a personal thing, nobody cares.

  1. The issue you describe is fully intended by gaijin - you will find countless threads dealing with 4-8 minute matches on maps like Tunisia or Poland. The usual suspects: Wyverns and Do 335s…

  2. You are experienced enough to acknowledge that Air RB became Air AB+ in the last 4-5 years. The game was optimized to please new and fresh players and not the steadily decreasing number of experienced players. So the PvE game play option is allowing even absolute rookie players to research whole TTs with simple tasks like base bombing or point & click adventures vs Ground ai units.

  3. Gaijin creates the illusion that progress (grind) can be achieved without the necessity to learn how to play PvP - the goal is always to keep entry barriers low in order to encourage those players to buy overpriced pixels which might help to accelerate their grinding journey.

  4. This and the old forum contains hundreds of proposals & suggestions of highly experienced players how to improve the game play in Air RB - imho zero of them were considered, the threads with experiences with almost non-existent small team sizes at top tier might be an exception of this rule.

  5. Even basic stuff which might be suited to put away some pressure from the ticket issue will not be considered by gaijin. An easy step would be the elimination of those ai planes on all maps. But: Players would complain en masse (“Grind and Spading gets harder again”) and gaijin has enough issues with review bombing. Most of the high traffic threads regarding Air RB in the last months are dealing with pure grinding issues (Base respawn timer, base kill with rockets, base stealing, team kills to prefent others to bomb a base, etc.)

  6. So as long as gaijin rewards 3 times the RP of a player kill for a simple task like base bombing nothing will change.

  7. A last remark: Air RB had always a PvE component - even if most matches are decided via TDM game play. So on one hand you as a fighter jock benefit from inexperienced enemy PvE players (free kills) but on the other hand you want to nerf their already low chances to win with PvE game play. This does not fit together as your request is simply aimed to adjust the game to your personal preferences.
