In Ground RB its totally markerless, so its dot or contrailspotting. Meta is hugging the ground at tree top level.

As already said, dots are easily visible (exaggerated size of the dot and always very dark…) agains the sky in third person view.
In contrast its almost impossible to spot a plane against the ground textures.
Its pretty weird, cause in RL from WW2 to modern times altitude is often considered as tactical advantage, while in War Thunder its all about ground hugging. At altitude your’re often just getting farmed by ground huggers which have a massive spotting advantage.
my idea is that ARB at high level, advanced jet age, long range radar guided missiles, should be completely revolutionized, and should be like SB, but with third person view, maps should be big, lo random spawn at most 2 or 3 planes per random spawn point on the map, and without the contrails, this would lead many tryharders to leave the mode, and then you would start doing things in a realistic way, using the view and the radar to identify targets, at low and high altitudes. I believe that a petition should be made with a vote for the removal of these trails, and subsequently to push gaijin to improve the ARB mode and make it less Arcade, as it is unfortunately becoming
