Add STOCK CHAFF FOR BR 13.0 +

I’m American, and I’m a Marine too. Is there a point you want to make about me?

A five kill game in the F8U-2 nets me ~10K RP.

Maybe you get a bit more RP in the true missile thunder brackets.

Even with the F8U, I’ve looked at modifications costing multiple tens of thousands of RP.

Do a little bit of maths. How many games does 1 modification take even with top of leaderboard score and 100% skill bonus?

Now, how likely are you to get such games missing over half your offensive and defensive potential (better missiles, chaff/flares)?

How many 1 kill games will it take?

Also for your “skill issue argument”, I don’t do duels in custom matches, only as they happen organically in sim. Maybe one day I’ll try them to improve further, but I still need to improve my basics to feel confident there. However, every video of a duel I’ve seen, every discussion of such as done intentionally set up…

people use mirror match ups, fully researched vehicles and the same vehicle.

If duelists prefer using perfectly matching vehicles in their fights, why do you enjoy fighting planes that are incredibly inferior even in a mirror match-up?

I like what you are saying, but I’d like to know how you monitor that with 16 jets flying at you while locking onto you as you spawn in? I understand you want to notch to hide from their radar and then turn around and inrease your distance, but how can you monitor the MAR of all 16 jets as they fly around the map?

Duels give no RP, so it’s pointless to bring them up. As I said earlier, I can understand advocating for lower RP requirements for mods and better RP rewards, but outright removing tier one mods such as chaff is pretty much pointless, especially since you can unlock them in a few matches

What kind of matches are you playing where you’re ending up in 1v16 fights? You never actually have to pay attention to more than like 3 planes at a time.

You argued making it possible for planes to start with full set of defensive equipment would be “dumbing things down” and “appealing to skill issues.”

If people who engage in the most competetive form of warthunder prefer fighting mirror match ups, how would giving everyone who can face a given set of missiles the tools they historically had to deal with that threat?

Nobody asks for a sabre to get chaff, it makes no historical sense and it only ever fights radar missiles from the demon anyhow.

But above 12 or maybe lower, chaff should be available by default like flares are on my f8u-2. My f8u-2 didn’t need to research flares as it can face IR missiles that warrant it.

hey tux, quick question. You play prop tier alot?

Playing matches does not require the same skill set as mirrored duels, and most duels are guns only anyway, so bringing them up is pointless.

Further arguing this is also pointless. Best of luck getting free mods from the Snail, which has happened like 3 times for planes in more than 10 years. Cheers 👍

12.0+ most of the time

It depends on match length more than anything. You can easily get 10k rp with 3 klls and a long match, but most high tier matches are below 10 minutes.

It took me 30ish games to unlock the best missiles on my Mig-29, but that’s also in a plane with a good stock grind, and with me not spawning in uptiers.

Are you talking about top tier? That’s what I was talking about. And really, your point was not my question. The question was about monitoring your opponents MAR. If it is reccomended to avoid fling in that “hitbox”, you should be aware of all your opponents, right? How else would you know if your were in their MAR or not? No offense, but my guess is you’re not talking about top tier. I can basically soft lock most of the enemies immediately once I spawn in. I can usually tell if most are going right or left by the soft locks.
Edit to add: I usually use TWS radar and was wondering if the person I asked the question was using another radar that showed that MAR distance or something.

I am talking about top tier, I don’t worry about anyone that’s not within 10 miles of me and flying at me. Doesn’t matter what kind of missiles or what radar they have if they’re outside of that window they’re not my problem.

I appreciate your input, but again I was wondering about the MAR distance the other poster was talking about, not your technique for flying.

TOTALLY AGREE aaaaa

They could at least make chaff like parts and fpe where it is less rp.

Over time, you learn the aprox. range for the missiles. You try to keep track of the enemies coming at you and keep them outside of that distance.

There is not a way for you know actually see the no escape zones for enemy missiles, you can only see your own. It is basically the same method as seeing an enemy behind you and knowing if their IR missile has the energy to reach you.

yeah I think lowering the mod cost would probably be the only change I can realistically see gaijin doing

True. But it being only like 3-4k rp wouldnt be a bad grind.

Sure :)

I don’t play RB anymore for this exact reason - 16v16. I only play SB now where what you described is not a problem.
