I’d make it stock on any rank VII+ aircraft since 12.7 can still face top tier.

you can just use terrain or just fly under 60 meters to avoid ARH missiles

you don’t need chaff unless you are at high altitude, where you should not be if you don’t have a full ARH kit

Nah, there are some things you should just have to suffer trough. Lack of chaff on stock planes will teach you how to evade missiles kinematically, which is an important lesson. Unlocking that module by yourself will make you appreciate it all the more.

Sorry but Multipathing is not viable at all. Ive had moments where ive been kissing the ground an the missle still hit me. (Not splash damage but a direct hit) Evading missles like this is just too random to be effective.

Any maneuver to 100% counter an advanced ARH is require done with chaff. Or you meaning crashing into ground?

My Tornado has 1200 chaffs and I eject them all the time. They don’t work vs. Radar missiles. You can deploy several hundret chaffs between you and the incoming missile, it will ignore all of them.

chaff assists when paired with notching, you cannot rely on only chaff like they are flares

So many ways to defeat AMRAAM.

  1. Do not fly into the MAR. If you are outside of the MAR and missile is launched at you, simply turn around for a few seconds.
  2. If you are inside MAR, notch and multipath.

I practically never use chaff, only when I am too stupid to fly inside the MAR.

I hope they nerf multipath and chaff even further. Chaff should not be a get out of jail free card. Not to mention PD radar should not be susceptible to chaff anyway. Don´t know why chaff is able to break locks so easy in WT. Perhaps a noob protection.

And if chaff/multipathing were to be nerfed, how would I defend against AMRAAM at closer ranges?

If air superiority players use chaff constantly and you don’t, I think the ones who play wrong are not the pro players

It’s a tier 1 modification in 99% of the cases. Just fly low and to the side until you unlock it.

You shouldn’t be forced to be passive just because you are stock. You should be given adequate weaponry and defences when stock.

Playing without chaff forces you to learn defensive flying and positioning, abilities which are then boosted in effectiveness once you unlock chaff. You can always tell when a guy GE’d chaff because he will think that it works the same way as flares. Another such case is Tornado IDS players with their stock chaff; even a plane without PD can get em because they keep going front aspect towards the missile
