You realize the adats console setup and the information it provides is almost identical to what the pantsir console and the information it provides right?
Yes. The difference is tracker mechanic and in game implementation. Pantsir track radar preforms search pattern itself, stripe by stripe. That way it searches for and tracks, iirc 8 targets at once.
And that is implemented in game. ADATS E/O does not have a feature like that. Only search radar of ADATS does.
Therfore it does not have a feature like that, and untill TWS for search radar is implemented, ADATS won’t get the boxes.
I suppose we will get something like the SLAMRAAM or the 9X on the Humvee??
How would that cope with the IRIS-T SAM?
It wouldn’t have a radar, would it? So it would use the good ol’ Eye Mk1
We’ll just have to wait and see. Some form of ground launched AMRAAM was in a past (reputable) leaklist before, but so was a ground launched IRIS-T “for US apparently”. Likely that IRIS-T thing may just have been a temporary internal test thing.
I am not even sure if the SLAMRAAM humvee works standalone at all. Though I guess it’s war thunder, but manually aiming that launcher seems a bit odd. Idk if it can even aim up or down, or if it only can get into the launch and stow position. I imagine it will get a radar though, in one way or another. Would suck a lot if not.
Probably we will just get a mechanic to launch the Fox 3s Hot but that means the jets should get that too. It would make sense.
Well they are developing multi system sams and announced their addition to several nations this next major.
The IRIS-T SLS (which is basically what they showed in the teaser community update) has a max range of 12km and the Chinese SPAA they showed has a max range of 17km. I would not get my hopes up for NATO getting anything good.
Here’s just hoping for G6-HVM. Or if Britain is getting something towed it’s probably going to be… Certainly not at top tier that’s for sure. Maybe there’s a slight chance for towed Rapier but that would be 9.3 at best.
While the SLAMRAAM is fun I would prefer this due to it sporting both a search and track radar and Barak 1s which sport a 12km range and have absurd maneuverability.
Would also be a great addition to both the US and Israeli tree at the same time so both nations get a good SAM system.
I can’t see the US getting this. It is an Israeli AD system. Although you have made me do some research into it where I seen the US dumped 250mil into helping it’s development. (Won’t comment on that) I still don’t think it would be a fit for the US personally.
The only component not US made is the Barak missiles strapped to the back, the platform itself is the Centurion C-RAM which is a standard US system.
Its as much of a US vehicle as the SLAAMRAAM which is a US vee with NASASMs strapped to it, which are Norwegian developed surface launched AMRAAMs and the closest it got to being adopted was by a foreign buyer.
Both systems are more or less equally foreign made.
No the SLAMRAAM was a joint venture between Norway and the US. The Marines actually tested the SLAMRAAM with 120As I believe and made successful hits at 15kms. The US pulled out of the program in the early 2000s because the US didn’t see a need to spend money on something like that with the conflict it was partaking in.
I would say the SLAMRAAM fits more into the US tree than the ADAMS.
Yes, I said that, with the vehicle frame being US made and the missiles being Norwegian made.
The HSVD/ADAMS is, once again, a US made vehicle frame, and gun system with a Israeli made missile bolted to it.
The US pulled out because, at the time, we had no interest in SHORAD systems.
Both can fit fine IMO, the SLAMRAAM however has little reason to be in the Israeli tree, thus, if gaijin wants to be lazy like they normally are, the HSVD/ADAMS can go into both trees with little to no effort and also allows gaijin to keep holding off on adding active radar guided missiles to SPAAG as the Barak 1 is CLOS.
Remotely stationary patriot missile silo utilized by a radar vehicle would fit the US well. Sadly I think the distance between the silo and radar vehicle would cause issues though. Radar vehicle would loose aircraft lock once it ducks behind a mountain while the missile is still 5 miles from the ground map
US, Germany, Italy, should get MEADS
or US get the PATRIOT and Germany and Italy get MEADS
(Medium Extended Air Defense System)
Honestly we are getting SLAMRAAM like 90% sure just based on he fact that we are getting iris-t. Personally i would like HVSD/ADAMS just cuz it has C-RAM (or whatever its called) which would make it at intercepting munitions which should be standard in todays SPAA. Tho SLAMRAAM-ER would be funny but probably not an option atm
Looks inside ADATS topic
Israeli SPAA.
I think ADAMS also could be added in US TT. Phalanx it is fully US tech.
Can go to Germany since it’s a Mercedes truck
