ADATS, what Gaijin got wrong

I agree it should be able to slew to target. No argument there. I thought you had the same idea as uptiers where he says it should radar lock like the pantsir.

Oh no. Well, not entierly. It should provide the same principle, that is a not locked square. But not fire at multiple things at once.
Here you can see Pantsir track radar at work

It should do the same, that is one target locked, and 9/10 in the not locked squares. You should be able to jump between them, but you will be able to fire at only one at a time.

The difference is that those not locked will not have speed and heading, and will be updated once every second, not constantly.

That would be convient for target accusation I agree. Import that the missile is not receiving Guidance from the TWS.

That would not be possible, as it is beam riding. Unless Gaijin does a oopsie on their side

Irrelevant, the sight elevation is limited to the gun, not the missiles. Doesn’t matter what pov you’re looking at 65° at (for example) it’s still limited to 65° when in reality the sight will rotate fully to 85° as stated by the manufacturer and brochures.

It’s perfectly relevant, and not providing evidence doesn’t help this discussion when we’re trying to prove something exists or not.

Post edit with screenshots:
Evidence that ADATS sight limits change with the setting on or off:

Spoiler

Camera through gunner sight:

Camera through gun barrel:

These screenshots prove a difference, while also proving that camera through gunner sight is incorrect.

Sight can elevate up to 90 (and more), and even freely rotate. The thing is, now sight elevation is bound to main gun elevation, that is in US ADATS, the gun.

The beam guidance for the missile comes from the optic system how ever high the optic can go the missile can.

Yrh that’s the problem, i shouldn’t have to change any settings when the UK version is set up like any other spaa.

That’s my point.
If you’re using camera through gun barrel [25mm gun] rather than the gunner’s sight then of course you’re going to be limited by the gun’s limitations and not the sight’s limitations.

And if camera through gunner sight is incorrect [which it is], then that should be fixed separate from the gun barrel sight.

If an accurate ADATS is a bad take to you, so be it.

How is it accurate when you have to change the sight settings meanwhile no other spaa you have that issue. It’s bad game design.

On the adats the tank gunner sights are limited in elevation to the gun.

Yehh let me just pause the game and change the sight settings to play one vehicle… Ohh I’m dead… Let me pause the game and change the settings back before i spawn again… Brilliant gameplay element there… Meanwhile isn’t necessarily for any other vehicle.

It’s not an issue if you just play with them on just know the parallax. That being said the optic stops rotating up after hitting the guns max elevation.

Why would you if you’re not playing sim.

I have a news for you guys

It changes nothing

@Hartsy1
I provided screenshots of Roland having that same exact thing.

The only issue is the camera through gunner sight isn’t correct while being different.

You don’t get to complain about an unrealistic feature you’re using to gain advantage in MBTs just cause it makes it inconvenient in IFVs and SPAA with both guns and SACLOS missiles.

“Clearly no change.”
Obviously a marginal change, despite the camera through gunner sight still being incorrect.
