ADATS nerf is terrible

In the new update, “Hornet’s Sting”, the MIM-146 received a pretty significant nerf. Gaijin removed the tracer from the missile, with effectively makes it invisible about 5 seconds after launch even with thermals. How is this fair at all? Now it’s basically impossible to do the already hard task of hitting maneuvering targets at range, but now with a major handicap.

The ADATS was already weak, but now it’s basically only good against helicopters and tanks.

su-34 players can literally fly 9-11 km away from the battlefield, fire 6 Kh-38MT’s, turn away, get 6 kills, and air defence can’t do anything because we can’t reliably track incoming munitions…

If an F-15E did the same thing they would: spawn, fire 6 AGM-65D’s, immediately get killed by a Pantsir-S1, then have all their missiles also get intercepted. And btw the Pantsir has enough ammo to do that 3 times, intercepting every AGM, and will still have some missiles to spare.

Now its even worse, with a faster Su30SM with the same payload they can spam even faster, queued into my first top tier ground match (12.0) and got killed by a 38MT and Kh29, its literally nigh unplayable

And NATO can’t have decent AGM’s or SPAA either because either “too OP” or “clear marketing lie”

NATO hasnt shyed away from propaganda either, but either NATO needs SPAA better than pantsir so the SU30/34 arent untouchable, or the missiles need to be nerfed or CAP role needs to be reworked and thats its whole other story (convincing GRB players, who already earn less rewards in their gamemode, to grind an entire new tech tree/ gamemode to get aircraft)

Missile nerf maybe, but still unlikely. They’ve gotta handhold certain nations

Japan with an SAM SPAA without radar, ol mk I Eyeball

Technically considered a buff by some players given the enemy can’t see it coming or tracking. However it’s a nerf based on the way gaijin implemented it. It’s supposed to manually give itself lead based on the target lock with either the Radar or IR system so the Tracer would never be needed.

Gaijin: “We buff ADATS”
Look inside*
Instead of smokeless, its no tracer, cannot be see in thermal and also

and does not have this which it SHOULD HAVE
yikes

Currently it can be considered a nerf, but hold on guys. Once the missile flight behavior gets corrected it should be much better.

thats if it gets corrected at all

I’m tired of holding on, boss.

F-15E cannot get fragged by Pantsirs, they out-range Pantsir entirely.

And I see @Chubbmaster is anti-NATO.

@Cyvell_シ So ALL* CAS isn’t untouchable, there is no SPAA in War Thunder that can frag top CAS.

I do hope this is sarcasm, i am sincerely offended

Your first post is incoherent anti-NATO nonsense.
NATO has all the OP AGMs except Kh-38, cause news-flash the carriers can’t die to any SPAA in-game.
Hammer, PGM_3, and AGM-65.
While AGM-65 will be the first off the chopping block due to new SPAA in the near future, the other two will still be out-ranging all SPAA.

And no tech tree has decent SPAA to deal with CAS currently.
SPYDER would be decent, Type 81 getting AI search radar would make it okay, and so forth.

I’d say they don’t have enough, we need brimstone too.

we also need our SPAA to be un-nerfed.
ALL roland systems had automatic missile guidance (tracking radar DUH) but the only SPAA to have this in game (still poorly modelled i heard) are the Pantsir and Tor-M1(+HQ-17)

Literally how it is supposed to be modelled is SARH but you cannot chaff the missile, only the main radar (which is obv harder)

What are you saying? I’m genuinely a little confused with this one. If you’re insinuating that I think top tier CAS is vulnerable you’re wrong, even the best SPAAs aren’t capable of effectively combatting the SU34 in a theoretical scenario which is something we have in common no? I’m trying to advocate for better and capable SPAA for NATO especially but I’m not excluding Russia either. I don’t know for sure if that’s what you’re insinuating but if you are please don’t put words into my mouth.

Adats missile is invisible to cas? Nice.

Now time to fix the mim72

I legit cannot hit any moving targets past even 3-4 KMs now and yet some idiots consider it a buff , this is more of an nerf and a complete butcher to the ADATS. It basically now a Helicopter Buster at best. US right now has completely 0 reliable top tier AAs… Screw Gaijin for this.

You do realize there are more CAS than Su-34 right? All that are unkillable to all SPAA in War Thunder.
Harrier was the first, then Pantsir was fixed around September 2024.
To this day F-16C is as OP as its first sortie.

I get people have a love-hate stiffy for Russia, but people really need to stop getting mad when Russia gets the toys every other tech tree has.
