Activate Parallax in ground rb

Hi. Why no parallax in ground rb? Seriously why not?

With the sight in sim mode? I use it as a challenge and to make tanks feel more unique, but its an option and should stay that way

There will soon be players coming out against it, shouting for arcady gameplay lol

Because thats how game is constructed. Ground vehicle controls are essentially the same (apart more power output in ABGF) in all 3 modes.

So RBGF is ABGF with higher difficulty settings and SBGF is RBGF with higher difficullty settings.

It was asked for many times in the past and it wont change from being an option to a must.

Thats kinda unecessarily rude, if you want sim sights in grb there is a setting or you can play sim

Correct me if I am wrong, but does modern optics not account for and counter it? I believe it can even do things like indicate lead angle & trajectory?

I can’t say I’m really familiar with tank gun sights, since I’m not a tank gunner, but I do a fair bit of shooting with firearms. Parallax is still an issue with modern optics, to different degrees, nowadays there is adjustable parallax on optics so I would think that modern tanks have integrated that, but I don’t know for sure.

Ye from standard small arms I too know it is issue. Though I remember a documentary somewhere that stated these modern beast (think 80s) uses ballistic computers to ease gunning.

Sure, whatever you say.

Not optics, modern FCS do.

ChatHPT - optics are typically a crucial part of the Fire Control System (FCS) on a tank. The optics, including gunner sights and commanders’ sights, allow the crew to acquire and track targets. These optics are integrated with the FCS to help calculate the correct angle and aiming adjustments for firing, especially under dynamic combat conditions. Modern tanks often have advanced targeting optics that can include thermal, infrared, and laser rangefinders, all feeding data to the FCS to improve accuracy.

Either or, for modern tanks a “centred” sight would be more realistic in a game aspect, no?

Edit : as in why should I manually adjust for a centred shot from off-centre if the FCS does that for me already?

No one is stopping you from using them.

No, sights are not idealy centered. But yes optics are still important part of tank gunnery. Tank guns are usually boresighted to certain distance but paralax still exists because thats a physical thing and FCS does take that into a count when it calculates for a shot and projects it on gunner screen.

Also modern tanks have laser pointers on their gun barrels to make FCS job even easier.

You don’t have to adjust anything manually. If you select target through optics, lase it, FCS does its thing and it marks where you need to shoot. What difference does it have how big your paralax is if FCS negates it?

whats the point of turning it on for yourself where everyone has it off ? you realize that parallax makes aiming a bit more difficult ? you would put yourself into disadvantage, its either for everyone or noone, its like grass, some have it off and other on because i think they dont know about that option … it should be the same for everyone … parallax would be a cool feature to the game and i really dont know why it wasnt added way earlier as war thunder is pretty realistic game, players would quickly learn it but aiming would become a little bit more difficult which i think would be fun

You can always play SB where it is a default option.

You realize that only situation where paralax would be an issue is CQB and in CQB you can shoot from commanders view using gun reticle which negate paralax?

IIRC guns in WT are boresighted to 800 m. So on ranges close to 800 m paralax is non issue.

Earlier? This is my video from 7 years ago and gun parallax was a thing even then.

Video is also showing what I was talking above how gun reticle negate parallax.

So why not add it to the game? its a cool feature

It is already in the game, in SB mode it is a default option

this thread is about ground rb not sb
