Honestly thats exactly what I think make it so if you ground it out originally it should have much larger benefits than if you got it later on. It would appease the people who originally got the vehicle and allow the new players to be able to experience it too.
I personally don’t like the concept of ‘my version of this vehicle is better because I got it earlier than you’. In my opinion, having had the vehicle for however many years before the ‘new’ owner could obtain it should be the reward in itself.
Speaking as someone with a few rare vehicles myself, I would love for newer players to have an opportunity to get them.
I really like this concept, people really want vehicles from the past and it would genuinely bring more playtime that people would 100 percent use to grind a special vehicle especially if it take like a whole rank to get a certain one, i need a lorraine 155
While this is a great idea, you would need a stupidly high grind for these to be allowed. You have to offset the potential profits of these uber rare and exclusive vehicles being traded on the market. I hate that we even have this situation, but it is what it is. These would genuinely need to be millions of SL to be “worth it” for gaijin.
I think they should just re-run the vehicles in new events or put them as squadron vehicles for double the RP of a similar ranked vehicles. What gaijin lost in their cut of the market place sales would be made up by the volume of sales in GE to buy them.
Or do a once or twice a year event where you can grind out a coupon for a legacy event vehicle make the basic coupon good for a rank 1, then the more you grind and level it the higher rank vehicle you can buy with it.
The potential profits can easily be recovered by making the grind skippable with GE, like @Cloudzy26160 said. Gaijin gains both player retention and money!
Game developers believe that new players are not human beings, they do not deserve to own previous vehicles, blame new players for being born late or playing late > _ <
We can only hope that the likes of @Smin1080p_WT and other CMs are forwarding what we say to said devs. I think it’s pretty clear that there’s a strong demand for returning unobtainable vehicles in general and many ways to make it profitable for Gaijin.
And yeah, I feel your pain. If the Tiger II 105, Panther II and Coelian were brought back in some way, I (and a lot of other players, as shown by my screenshots above) would be over the moon. (Pretty please, Gaijin?)
Why? (I presume you men by other than buying whatever is available on the market)
Genuinely, why not? Many of them are fun, iconic vehicles and I think everyone should have the chance to obtain them every now and then.
And yes, outside the market. I’m personally not a fan of the limited supply and overinflated prices that system leads to.
console players getting railed by no access to market place :(
Fair enough - I disagree - I had to sweat blood for some of these and buggerd if I think some newbie should get it for gambling or whatever…
Rememberting that the market provides revenue for Gijin - how would you propose that make up whatever it lost?
That sounds like a failing on the system’s part more than anything. I do agree that certain events have been ridiculously grindy.
I’m not arguing that these vehicles should be more easily obtainable for newer players than they were for you (though that would certainly be nice, given how tedious some past events have been), but that they should be obtainable, reliably, in some form.
I’ be OK if they are put on a 7 -10 year rotation. If they return as event vehicles after about 7 -10 years, that would be OK with me. The IS-7 would then return this summer.
That’s a great question. I think the more popular choice with players would be the option to skip the grinding process with GE, but for a more monetarily aggressive and reliably profitable method Gaijin could put up a purchasable entrance fee. A player can buy a ‘ticket’ for real-world currency, and that ticket opens up the ability for the player to grind for their vehicle of choice.
Think Thunder League Dog Tags that open up a squadron vehicle type of unlocking process, for example.
As a toggleable option similar to switching to tanks, helicopters, planes, ships. it would be nice to implement a Event vehicle’s tab
this way it doesnt cloud up the entire UI or tech tree and easier to navigate
Thinking a bit about it, maybe the best way imo to re release this vehicles would imo be something like what they did for the 10 year annyversary where if you get certain amoun of score you can randmodly get one, maybe do this once a year (annyversary or chismas)
You’ll get them through gambling boxes
You can learn from WOT to award a voucher at the 151 level of the pass, and every 2-3 vouchers can be exchanged for a different level of previously awarded vehicles. This can not only solve the problem that new players can not get the previous pass vehicle, but also have little impact on the current players, which can guarantee his income within a year.
Of course, because WOWS is not as smart as WOT. WOWS is a bit stubborn and inflexible, which is why it can’t compete with WOT in terms of influence, online population, or revenue.
