the difference isnt that huge when you think about expert and ace crew. just relevant in 1/1000 deaths.

Crew skills in general can be considered pay to win, and I would consider ace crews P2W because of how hard they are to get F2P, and how expensive they are to even obtain.
Deaths aren’t the only thing, it’s also repair speed, crew replacement speed, and overall survivabilty.

Honestly i dont mind ace crew, i dont find them neccesery or an advantage for the 12 years ive been playing. and one gotta remember that this is a free to play game. if there wasnt microtransaction the game it wouldnt be alive. I support the paywall/grind for ace crew. because 0.5 sec faster reaload aint gonna make my kd rise.

Crew will die to any explosion regardless of the expertise (expert or ace), health points in this case is pointless, the only critical thing that actually changes is mostly cannon guidance speed and weapon reloading which has a decent difference between these two types (expert and ace). Crew expertise is far from the worst ‘paywall’.
War Thunder is far from the balanced game people want, if it was, crew ability was one of the few things unchanged from player to player and vehicle to vehicle, stuff like weapon reloading is unaffected player to player in games like World of Tanks where the first shot doesn’t means kill, requires thinking while in War Thunder you just don’t have to mess things up.
Getting free ace is about 2-4x more than it should be and the fact its assigned to the slot not the vehicle is what makes it so stupid.
Though crew skills overall are about a decade outdated and really need an overhaul. Like having an entire tab for “defensive gunners” which is barely relevant for about 90% of vehicles is really annoying. That tab needs to change based upon the aircraft.
Let alone the fact that at least half the skills a just a waste of effort.
Actually, Id disagree. The number of fights i’ve been screwed over by the instant G-lock without the ACE crew. Even with expert, that extra jump is notable
It is entirely possible to make a good F2P without multiple P2W gameplay elements, Gaijins bottom line wouldnt be affected if they made crew skills far more reasonable

I have 2 ace crews, both of which were earned.
I’ve never felt pressured into buying an ace crew.

G-loc and decade long recovery time. Sometimes I think that G-suit should have ace crew level of G-tolerance while expert crew has ace crew level g-tolerance, and the ace crew removed from the game altogether.

I dont necessarily mind the ACE level existing, but the expert SL cost should be 1-2x the crew cost the not the 4x it is currently and the ACE free-RP should be no more than 1.5x the research cost not the 3-4x it is currently. Though crew skills overall probably should have less impact
Would make it 100% more managable, though G-Suit should do WAAAAAY more than it does currently

That is still enabling the predator in gaijin soul. id accept 4X crew cost for expert only if Ace crew is removed and you get Ace crew level of skill from the get-go.

As much as I hate to say it, the world is bigger than what we all think, and they might have another company or investment that is bleeding money, the profit making from this game used to maintain the expenses of other businesses they have so it’s not actually hard to understand why this happen. Or maybe another Porsche in the garage and Rolexes added into his personal collection would be nice bro

One thing pissing me off is the br change which screws up my lineup one way or another, like this Aced vehicle get it’s br raised from 8.7 to 9.0 now that the same crew slot has another 9.0 vehicle that is also Aced, what happen next? I have to put of them in other slots which means they are no longer Ace. Believe it or not, changing br is lowkey another form of cash grab

It should be but we know they won’t do it, another thing that makes me lose braincells is having to spade similar vehicles on different nations, like T-72s and zsu-23-4, like literally do it three times to have access to the same parts and technology lol
