Ace crew is predatory period

Skill issue. just monetize it like war thunder if they know people can be nickel and dime’d like war thunder player.

Well, who’s to blame but you for giving them money for all this?

Well im not paying a cent for expert crew. so not me.

Some are just so weirdly inconsistent too. A1E1 is 320000 XP for a BR 1.3 vehicle.

Should definitely rework the entire crew system as it currently stands, its quite old and is not made for the way the game is right now.

For a good amount of vehicles in higher tiers the reload difference between aced and stock is 2 seconds which is huge. Even 0.5 seconds is a pretty significant difference. Also, gaijin has several other ways to make money like premium time, premium vehicles and marketplace.

Crew skills is literally pay to win as it gives your tank way better performance. And in ground grinding these levels is unbearable. I find it genuinely insane how you can defend something that is just blatant pay to win

Don’t forget how crew skills affects sound

I’m not talking about the expert crew, I mean in general. You buy premium, you buy vehicle packs (for the price of a proper AAA game, lol), and then you go to the forum and start writing posts about how everything in the game is wrong and should be fixed. But from Gaijin’s point of view, everything is perfectly fine — because some idiots keep throwing money at them. They don’t read the forum, and even if they did, they wouldn’t give a damn.

Hilariously incorrect, go into any >9.0 ARB match in an un-expert crew and see just how relevant your crew skill becomes and how important expert crew is.

Actually I disagree, I often cheese the expert crew level requirement by spamming useless defensive crew stats (who still plays bombers in 2k25 honestly) and boom, level 30 crew bayybyyyy. So yeah I’d rather keep the useless crew tab to allow free levels from time to time.

Fuel tank explosions and burning external tank said No

Difference between a noob crew and maxed g/stam is immense.

An expert 5/5 can sustain a 6G turn nearly indefinitely (i ran out of diving room before my screen vignetted).

My non expert 2/2 test meanwhile blacked out after like 30 seconds of pulling.

This actually came up last night.

I decided to fly out my g.55 sotto 0 in air sim.

I encountered a yak 3 at high altitude and we ended up in high speed scissors. Or something vaguely resembling scissors.

We were both pulling the same Gs but my italian crew slot is fairly low level while this guy had a few hundred sim games in their soviet fighters.

Result? I blacked out and ended up flying straight for a few moments. This was with me easing on the stick at times to reduce g load but that risked overshooting.

Through this i lost sight of the yak and the guy went from being almost within a secure gun solution to ending up behind me while i scrambled to look around to find them again.

I am confident id have won that fight in my 109f4 or f4u4 where i have 5/5 expert unlocked. (Ignoring the fact that maybe i wouldnt have scissored with these like in my fiat. Key diff is the crew skill).

For the record in sim max crew xp per 15 minutes is 25 xp at 130% or so rp modifier. Economy system prevents getting more than that.

You need some 50 hours in a crew slot to get 5/5 (i calced elsewhere but am on phone so cant check)

Bro never played jets, nor have learnt about the repair time difference, reload difference, traverse difference and rendering distance xD

Which is also, at least in my opinion pointless, sound is always buggy and maps are so close that is better relying on vision and awareness, but I get your point.

No way Sherlock, seriously? There are instances where crew may survive due to leakage and explosion of fuel tanks and some others don’t, as I mentioned earlier crew will die to any explosion regardless.

At least on my part, I didn’t have moments of flowers and happiness with a explosion in my vehicle that resulted in crew loss or complete vehicle loss.

ace crew is not that big of a deal. crew skills are more important.

He’s talking about Ace, not Expert. Expert (+3 omniboost) is pretty much essential, Ace (another +2) is nice but it’s not catastrophic if you don’t have it.

my bad.

Rendering is also affected by crew skills unfortunately. Pretty hard to use vision and be hyper aware when your sound isnt working properly and your vision isnt working lmao

Have you ever aced a crew for free? If so, did it take you long?

I aced two for free and have several others in the works. It’s not something I focus on, it just happens over time.

I don’t consider it predatory since its can be done for free. If it was locked by a pay way maybe Id agree.

The whole crew skill system doesn’t feel right in a PvP game and should be changed.
I don’t think it’s P2W, but it’s definitely a mechanic that’s highly anti-player as you can basically pay to get performance, saving yourself dozens of hours to do it manually.

Having this pay-for-performance system in a PvP game is never a good idea.

My Mustang Mk Ia I have ~23 hours in (assuming 60 minutes per game. There’s outliers, but it’s a decent approximation.)

Bf109F4 I have 31 hours in.

This is the progress I have with both (theyre roughly my most played planes in SBEC.)
