It VERY MUCH IS TDM with how gaijin has ruined the mode over the years. What you say describes OLD air rb from the 2012-2020 period… they have since made many changes that have made it purely into TDM.
Bomb bases? Doesn’t effect tickets anymore hardly at all.
Kill ground? Also won’t end game through tickets (doesn’t impact tickets enough to matter)

I’m fully aware Gaijin wanted to nerf rewards, hence why I am quick to tell people to stop whining about nerfing rewards because they hate base bombing. Because every single time they get what they want (nerfing rewards), they come back onto the forums and cry Gaijin nerfed rewards and it’s the base bombers fault.
It’s based on cold hard facts: I haven’t seen a single match of air RB end via ticket drain this entire year. This is despite the fact that I have spent many hours farming thunderer awards and antimech wagers with THE most powerful ground attacker in the entire game: The F-15E. Despite being able to delete an eye watering 20-26 ground targets in a single pass over the battlefield, this has NEVER ONCE helped my team win. In fact they held my team back and it would have been infinitely more beneficial to my team if I were to have equipped additional AIM-120s and 9Ms. The ONLY thing that the ground kills did were to help me complete selfish goals like farming SL or completing daily/event tasks.
The ticket drain from attacking AI ground targets is negligible to the point of irrelevance. It is a vestigial leftover from when it was more impactful years ago. The very few times that I have seen victory via ticket drain were ALSO matches where the team effectively won the team deathmatch and the sole survivor is hiding on an airfield or in orbit, and the players who won the deathmatch just mop up some soft targets as a formality since it’s faster than waiting for the match timer to hit zero.
Bots are part of the obj targets to take out. To ignore them is to invite an otherwise preventable loss if your team - Gaggle of randoms they may be - Doesn’t PTFO.
Taking out enemy players.
Taking out AI.
All of which drains the enemy’s tickets and leads to victory. Ideally, you don’t ignore any of the objectives and complete as much as possible to win. It’s that simple.
You aren’t listening. FRIENDLY BOTS will kill the ground targets BEFORE the ACTUAL attackers can, and FRIENDLY BOTS destroying enemy ground DOES NOT reduce tickets.
It helps tbh. I’ve had many rounds where I was at the airfield (my plane has slow acceleration so don’t blame me) and game ended because of repeated ground pounding from the another team
It’s not a instant win battle, but more of a supplement.
Which was a problem on some maps before Gaijin nerfed the AI participation. It’s not a point of contention anymore. AI will only finish the match if completely left to their own devices.
What? YOUR OWN TEAM’S AI WILL KILL TARGETS, WHICH WILL REMOVE SAID TARGETS FROM THE FIELD. WHEN THIS IS DONE, IT REMOVES THEM AS A TARGET FOR PLAYERS. WHEN THE AI ATTACKERS DESTROY GROUND TARGETS, IT DOES NOT SUBTRACT TICKETS. THIS MEANS THAT IF YOU DON’T WIN VERY EARLY INTO THE MATCH VIA GROUND TARGETS, YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO BECAUSE THERE WON’T BE ENOUGH TO SUBTRACT ENOUGH TICKETS! Actually, yes it does. Gaijin only nerfed their participation in how often they destroy a target, which still subtracts tickets. As for if an AI kills a target before you do; Boohoo, is what it is. If AI did nothing people would complain, and they were complaining when AI was carrying matches. Now it’s an ok middle ground at best, and people like you are still complaining.
I’ve already stated that we need larger maps with more objectives and targets that are more spread out. Unfortunately, we’re stuck with Gaijin sitting on their fat slav arse and doing F-All even after 11 years.
