Fictional baskets are completely unacceptable, which means that gaijin can modify any vehicle by their imagination
fr, i’m so disappoint when they release DevBlog for VT-5
In the video and pictures (Pictures 1-2), we can see the cartridge case collector at the bottom of the VT-5 turret (red area), the bearing shaft of the rotational floor of the combat compartment (blue area), and an unknown rectangular electronic device (purple area). This is consistent with the layout of the rotational floor of the combat compartment of the ZTQ-15 (Picture 3-5). Meanwhile, in order to collect the cartridge cases, this area has a certain thickness. But it doesn’t mean that it is a solid whole piece of the rotational floor of the combat compartment; it is actually hollow.
For the ZTQ-15, we can see that during the assembly process of its turret, there is never a turret basket present
. Since the VT-5 uses the same structure of the rotational floor of the combat compartment as the ZTQ-15, we can reasonably conclude that the VT-5 does not use a turret basket.

Yes, I totally agree with you, I am a Chinese player who has been playing War Thunder since the game opened, I love this game, it can be said that he accompanied me through my youth, but the way he is treating Chinese vehicles now makes me feel disappointed, I have never been willing to speculate on GAIJIN with the greatest malice. However, almost no new Chinese vehicle can be presented without controversy. China and Russia are partners with important strategic cooperation significance in reality. Why do some people in the production team want to be biased against their partners in the game? I hope the management can understand the excited performance of some of our Chinese players, of course, abuse is wrong, but they are not malicious, they just want to get fair treatment and a normal vehicle, and if there is a reasonable and normal vehicle in the game, I think it will certainly attract more players to play this game, isn’t it?
Inaccuracy is NOT disrespect.
Vehicles are made as accurate as possible by the team worked on.
Do you get angry about Battlefield games having incorrect Chinese vehicles in general?
Insert any and all games here.
Every game dev team does research, Gaijin does more research than most, and that research has to stop at some point to apply the vehicle to the game.
The fact that War Thunder is getting the most accurate VT5 ever put into any game is an accomplishment
Yes, it’s potentially inaccurate, yes you are upset.
Be proud that the game is getting it despite the flaws, be proud it’s the most accurate example in any game; and most importantly: If something is wrong that you can verify, help bug reporters with their research.
It is okay to be both upset and proud at the same time.
The reason we used “disrespectful” instead of “inaccurace” is because this vehicle’s level of inaccuracy clearly exceeds acceptable standards - it’s blatantly wrong. besides, I suggest you visit the issue website and take a look, then come back and reconsider what you’ve just said “help bug reporters”
Unfortunately, the developers of War Thunder are completely opaque about how they create vehicles. Neither players nor anyone else knows their thought process. Players provide the developers with transparent, non-classified information (based on publicly available sources), yet the developers refuse to adopt them and even deny their validity. So I ask: On what basis did the War Thunder developers design the VT5 tank? All unclassified information available on the internet has been presented, yet they dismiss it. Where does your so-called ‘data’ come from? Such hypocrisy, such arrogance, such utter disdain for the community. They outright reject objective facts. What’s the difference between War Thunder and World of Tanks now? Both hide behind a facade of ‘realism’ while inventing nonsensical stats like Wargaming does.
Yes the game is GETTING THERE. But with such a slow speed. And please ask our Italian colleagues if they feel upset about their own tanks, the Ariete, the 50+ ton main battle tank with so many errors and mistake. I’ve seen enough ISSUEs regarding Ariete in CBR and non of them ever get fixed. Feel their disappointment and anger. And OURs
Your standards for games are too high then.
Developers are men like us, they breathe, sleep, eat, and leisure when not on the job.
Every new vehicle I imagine the countless hours put into research, I know they’re countless cause I’m a researcher myself. I know exactly what it’s like to find a dead end on information and have to compromise with the information I have in that moment.
I know for a fact AGM-114s can exceed 8km, but the information there just doesn’t exist in explicit form to me. AGM-114 is potentially permanently inaccurate because of that.
Games not even 10 years ago were effectively all arcade games, War Thunder was entirely an arcade game 10 years ago outside the prop aircraft.
I am not saying do not be upset, all I am saying is be willing to acknowledge the stress put into the game by the workers.
You know who I’m upset about the AGM-114 being inaccurate? Not Gaijin; I’m upset at my government for likely classifying the actual range of AGM-114s in a datasheet somewhere in the archives making that information inaccessible.
Gaijin will make get there. There are millions of us, and far less of their research team.
Be upset, and be respectful. Cause at the end of the day, they want the same exact thing we all do, and do think how frustrated the research team in Gaijin is in not finding the information they wanted to find.
Many old players hope to have such a distinctive Chinese light tank and prepare to directly use the Golden Eagle to obtain it. I hope that Gaijin can fix the protection of vt5 to meet the wishes of the old players
We’re certainly happy to have a new Chinese vehicle in the game, but I don’t see the point of having one if it’s less fun to play than it is to watch, and it shouldn’t be. I might be wrong to say “disrespectful”, but you can also think back, since the Chinese vehicles appeared in the game, how many Chinese self-developed tanks in the game did not match the performance of the real world? Did the player make suggestions based on the question? But in fact, many of the suggestions made by players based on some reasonable information are not recognized, and their information is limited by many unreasonable requirements. Or have to wait a long time to get it perfect, which is unreasonable. If you think GAIJIN is not disrespecting Chinese players, then you should face up to our reasonable demands, and Chinese players will certainly be more supportive of you.
The real truth is that they willfully ignored reliable existing sources and arbitrarily created this so-called ‘VT5’ tank based on their own whims. Do the development teams of Ace Combat or Battlefield have a player-to-developer feedback system like War Thunder’s for submitting technical data? If Gaijin has long claimed to support and encourage such practices, their current actions directly contradict their original intentions. Why do Chinese tanks in World of Tanks receive far less criticism? Because everyone knows Wargaming openly fabricates data, while Gaijin hypocritically oscillates between historical accuracy and fictional elements.
But with so many mistakes about the VT5 tank, I find it hard to believe that the personnel took the time to seriously study the relevant information. VT5’s data in the game differed greatly from reality, and the staff refused to accept the player’s submission, which they believed was not credible. If the official interview video, the test drive video is not to be trusted, what else can be trusted? So many players believe that the VT5’s parameters are entirely based on gaijin’s imagination, rather than authoritative data. I would like gaijin to release the source of their VT5 tank data and explain the following why the VT5 has a fake hanging basket.
Judging from the production of War Thunder, the latest Chinese light tanks can’t even withstand the fire of a 5.8mm machine gun. This is obviously unrealistic. If this were true, then NATO countries would no longer need any rpg or anti-tank missiles in the future, as they could penetrate tank armor simply by using machine guns.
The administrator can’t even convince everyone with reasonable reasons, which is why everyone is here.
Do Namco or EA said their game is based on REAL world vehicle?
And do you know this situation is happens not one time on Chinese, or, any Minor nations [except Sweden top tier]vehicles?
The story of Battlefield 4 do make players angry, and there’s no Chinese planes in AC series i remember?
Stop, Wisla, do the only way you get Dopamine is shouting on WT Forum and show opposition under EVERY post?
Yes, we know these researchers are busy and need to search for various types of information. However, even if they encounter an ‘information dead end’, the information provided by this post is enough to provide them with a clear path. However, what about it? I just hope that developers can refer to this information instead of ignoring it.
In addition, from the current situation of VT-5, it is difficult for me to empathize with these developers. I will also put in a lot of effort to write an academic paper, but I will never make arbitrary speculations about areas that I am not familiar with in order to complete this paper. But VT-5 obviously did not receive such treatment: a lot of information on VT-5 is not secret, and with the information acquisition ability of developers, they can easily obtain it, rather than requiring players to point out tons of errors on the vehicles they have made. So, I cannot understand the attitude of the developers in creating this car.
Players have submitted quite a few issue posts, but admins have simply labeled them as not a bug. He doesn’t want to imagine what the players submit, and only wants to trust his own imagination.
If it is once or twice, it may be that he is inaccurate, but it is always the case, not just China.
Yes, we can appreciate the hard work of the developers, but that is not an excuse. Could you clarify what references the developers used to add the turret basket for the VT5 tank? The current model of the turret basket in the game is highly unrealistic—the crew cannot even move shells from the spare ammunition rack to the ready rack. Are they expecting the driver to handle this task?
While publicly available information on Chinese military equipment is limited, the developers should at least review the content submitted by players and use it as a reference, rather than fabricating or inventing a turret basket module. Additionally, do you really find it reasonable that a 33-ton light tank, equipped with ceramic composite armor and armored steel, cannot withstand .50 BMG machine gun fire?
