VT-5 tank in warthudner is not historical,now I can confirm there are at least two sources are used
by developers in modelling,but unfortunately due to language barrier they have made some mistakes.
I’m here to provide developers with detailed information for a historical modelling of the VT-5 tank,admittedly,interviews and tv program screenshots are not accepted as sources in issue system,but I know developers can make good use of them,since there are few public available source for modern Chinese tanks ,those interviews and tv program photos are very precious.
Oh I forgot to mention the x-ray model of autoloader,there’s only a small tray outside the autoloader:
First of all,the modelling of powerpack is wrong.In the game VT-5 tank uses the same powerpack as VT-4 tank,this could be caused by a misread of the interview with chief designer of the VT-5 tank Li Chunming(if you skipped the last paragraph in photo engine 2,you’ll make the same mistake),but actually it uses a combination of longitudinal 8V150ZAL engine and transverse CH700B transmission.
The reference of 8V150ZAL engine is given as follows(from a interview with the chief designer of the engine of the type 96B tank,it shares a same powerpack with VT-5 tank):
And a reference of 8V150ZAL(800HP version for PLZ05 and PGZ09) combined with CH700A transmission:
Finally we have come to the protection sector,but according to the interview of chief designer Li Chunming(by Modern Weaponry 2016.12) it can withstand the attack from first and second generation MBT:
In another interview(by Weapon Magazine 2017.1),vice manager of Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group Co.(China’s only tank manufacture company) Cao Fuhui says VT-5’s armor need to withstand armor piercing round fired by T-54A or T-55:
So I would say there must be NERA blocks in the upper front chassis,the position of accelerator and brake pedal can help us to determine it’s position:
I don’t think there are any designer would design a turret with thick NERA blocks(for a light tank),and then put it onto a chassis that can only withstand machinegun fire.The devblog description could be caused by misunderstandings.
a BMP2 with kontakt-1 era,but there are no NERA block,and I remembered that soviet engineers has tested kontakt-1 on bmp1 or bmp2,ERA explosion will break the armor.
