We all want this game to improve, and we genuinely love it. However, the current state of affairs is truly disappointing and frustrating.
hhhhh good job
I believe the development team has put sincere effort into creating this content and has operated in accordance with established protocols. However, it appears that certain individuals within the team may have compromised the accuracy of information, amplifying existing issues. While the process demonstrates dedication, this doesn’t guarantee optimal outcomes - some non-existent problems have been unnecessarily addressed, leading to current complications.
As a game that prides itself on historical authenticity, War Thunder faces stricter scrutiny regarding accuracy compared to titles like Battlefield where high-quality 3D models might suffice. This distinction makes the development team’s task particularly complex and worthy of respect, given they’re handling more intricate challenges than many other games.
The core issues with the VT5 implementation stem from pervasive, historically-rooted, and recurrent inaccuracies. While some perceive this as targeted criticism towards Chinese vehicle enthusiasts, I maintain these are rectifiable concerns. War Thunder’s development history shows numerous corrections of various issues - through open communication and willingness to implement feedback, the VT5 could absolutely be adjusted to align with publicly available documentation.
Thank you for sharing your unique perspective as well. The game’s continued improvement relies on contributors providing accurate information to implement corrections. This approach would encourage more players to invest their support, creating a virtuous cycle that fosters a healthier ecosystem for our game community.
As I have mentioned several times before, we very much appreciate your passion and commitment into this topic. Thank you for all the reports and data you provide in them (as long as they are not things that should not be shared - never do it, not joke)! This approach really helps us re-create the vehicle in game. However, please bear in mind that changes cannot happen from hour to hour, or even from day to day. For example: Just because someone draws a line in Paint on a photo (no matter how good intentions he had), it doesn’t mean that he or she didn’t, for example, make a mistake of 1 pixel and thus distort the entire perspective. Checking everything takes time, and time, as you know, is a resource that cannot be added to (unfortunately).
Again, you are helping us a lot, but if you can, please focus on this topic (sadly I had to lock +10 copy-pasted topics with same photos spammed all over the forum. Why? Becuase 10 threads on same topic create chaos in discussion).
Few more things:
A few people have already mentioned this: we do not treat Chinese (or Italian, Soviet or Swedish) tanks in any special way. I understand that for you Chinese tank mean something special (there is nothing wrong with that!), but please bear in mind that we do not have such approach - we try to treat every machine the same (special :) ) way and re-create it as best we can. So please don’t use xenophobic or racist attacks against us. We have implemented Chinese vehicles in game, because we feel they deserve to be here, among other war machines. If we would feel negative emotions on them, we would not have them in the game, I hope it’s clear for you? :)
Please focus on the vehicle, not on other players who have the right to have a different opinion than you (whether due to lack of knowledge or a matter of a different perspective on the subject).
Give the developers time to familiarise themselves with the problem. No one works 24/7 (ok, some of them work like that I guess, but even they need rest sometime), no one can only deal with one super specific topic. Everything takes time.
And as always, please, if you can, go to the CBR website, check the available reports and if you have any additional information (excluding confidential ones), add it to the report.
Please note, we have extended the opening of the Dev Server until 14th March, 07:00 GMT, so you still have time to test the vehicle :)
Is the most accurate representation of the VT-5 that it has armor that can only protect against machine gun fire? In the test server, you can even disable it with 5.8mm bullets! Or do you believe that the Chinese are foolish enough to build such trash and that Bangladesh is foolish enough to buy it?
I don’t know what is your standards for this game, but here are tons of data showing what the real VT-5 is, and why not cook it more realistic?
You can’t explain why gaijin requires data to fix the performance if they really don’t CARE the reality. You said they lack data, we provide far more data here. There is NO technical problem to fix VT-5 as the data shows, the current one in game is NOT EVEN WRONG but something else with a VT-5 model which weights 33 tons but can be pentrated by .50 cal from the front.
As a light tank, the VT5 uses composite armor for its base hull and turret, which takes into account both light weight and protective performance, but the armor thickness is lower than that of heavy main battle tanks. Its base protection may be resistant to small-caliber (more than 30mm) APDS or artillery fragmentation. And it has an anti-spall lining.
I think the key issue lies in improving the submission channels for bug reports. We all know that there is one or a few administrators who always like to claim that reports with sufficient evidence are not a bug(I won’t tell you who he is,but I know you know who). I believe players who frequently submit reports have an impression that they have been frequently returning or ignoring erroneous reports submitted by players since the old forum era, and this is still the case today. Gaijin must change all of this, as the bureaucratic class that hinders communication between players and developers is becoming an obstacle to game accuracy and continued development.
If Gaijin admits to their false advertising in “Realistic games” and refunds all the money I spent on in-game purchases, I would be happy to respect the developers’ efforts and never touch the game again.
I would like to know if it is possible to further improve the management of the bug report block? This kind of thing has happened many times, and due to the bug report block administrator’s frequent disregard for legitimate reports from players, there have been many incidents of leaks in the game. Obviously, we don’t want to see this happen. The reality is that because communication between players and developers is blocked, some people who hold confidential information will become angry and cause leaks, which is obviously detrimental to the game.
If gaijin uses public information, can gaijin disclose the source of gaijin’s information to players?
According to the side armor thickness means a single man can disable a 30-ton tank with an AK-47…Even WWI tanks had thicker armor than the VT5. Is China really still using 1915-era armor steel to build tanks?
This topic is not a place to discuss this, sorry.
You’ve had a long day. Yes, I also believe that gaijin will not target Chinese vehicles. However, as you know, many people like to raise issues to the national and ethnic level. For operators, reminding players to pay attention to their words and actions is just one way. What should be done more is to make the vehicle roughly approach its true level, just like the J-10 and ZTZ-99-III. This way, there will only be a few players complaining, after all, those who are rude and unreasonable are only a minority. Thank you
Please, we beg you, listen to our feedback! Your attention to our concerns would mean a great deal to the community and help make the game even better.
For example, these report administrators will ask you for materials they consider “reliable”, thinking that if they think your materials are unreliable, they will directly ban your posts and claim “not a bug”. Some people even pretend not to see your reports after you provide mutually verifiable materials including official or semi official sources and image materials, and then ignore them for several months, or simply claim that “the game is right” and ban your reports. This will certainly cause dissatisfaction among players. The problem is simple: when you cannot prove that you are right and I have sufficient reasons to prove that I am right, you use your authority to claim that I am wrong. Is this reasonable?
Well, I hope we can see improvements in this area in the future, otherwise sooner or later there will be more confidential leaks and more player dissatisfaction.
appreciate for your work
Your actions reflect discrimination against Chinese vehicles, and you don’t seem to recognize the progress of China’s armored vehicle technology, which is not conducive to the game experience, and does not compound the characteristics of the game’s restoration and realism. And you have to know that only by doing a good job in VT5 will players be willing to spend money on wing vehicles.
Hello, I am an avid 5 years of experience War Thunder game fan, I like this game very much, this is my first login to the forum, I accidentally saw your message, I want to consult about the vt-5 tank will continue to test and optimize the possibility, because I do not know where to go to the forum to learn this kind of information
