Perhaps we should all note that the current game’s understanding of any vehicle equipment is not objective and cannot be objective. For me, this VT-5 may be one of the reasons why I abandoned the Chinese land vehicle route.
Anyway, I need an explanation why you think the armor of VT5 is so fragile? According to the logic of reality, it cannot be so fragile.

If you think composite armor turret, and ~50mm steel plate hull is fragile for a light tank…
War Thunder is a virtual game based on dreams and imagination. You present factual feedback on issues, and the game operators just brush it off with balance issues; when you demand balance, they bring up factual evidence.
The strength of the vehicles in this game is entirely up to the game operators’ word. Worse still, the game lacks the least respect for Chinese elements—the tank armor equivalent coefficient for 2025 is only 0.2, which is truly absurd.

What are you trying to say? Don’t interpret this tank with your biases and outdated understanding, unless you think you are more professional than the engineers who designed it. It is known that the VT-5 tank has superior protection performance compared to other light tanks, such as the 2S25M.
Well, whether it is fragile depends on which shell it can defend. Obviously, a 50mm steel plate hull is not enough and not a realistic.

The engineers say the turret can resist APCBC, and the hull can resist autocannon fire, 50mm resists autocannon fire.

Which autocannon? A 30mm APCR is autocannon fire, and a 23mm ap is also autocannon fire. 50mm may be enough to resist 23mm AP but not enough to resist 30mm APCR.
It was standard AP they cited, not DS, not FSDS.
And these citations are usually from around 1000 meters away or more.

Side armor was changed to at least 20mm:
External plate was changed to 25mm:
Though the underlying plate is still 15mm instead of 20 - 25mm.

This is absolutely unacceptable. The non-existent hanging basket and the reduced armor at the front of the vehicle body are a blatant humiliation of the Chinese tech tree by Gaijin.
