Hello,I have a vital question. Why does the RWR(Radar warning receiver) not work properly?
When i play the plane like J-11,enemies’ missiles were flying to me and my RWR didnt work?!
i hope it can be fixed in the near future.
what type of missile they are using? IR missiles won’t trigger RWR physically.
RWR also has blindspots:
Statshark has a nice visualizer to see these.
ALWAYS Fox3,u think the Fox2 can be shot when they are 20+km away from u?
Like it was mentioned before - RWR usually has blind spots, it’s not a perfect detection sphere around the aircraft.
At the J-11 BR you will be facing mostly aircraft which have TWS (Track-While-Scan) mode, which allows for “silent” missile firing and does not trigger launch warning as missiles are being led via datalink to previously “seen” and selected targets. In this phase, there is no radar lock involved.
When missiles approach you at around ~16km distance, they will switch to active guidance mode, meaning they will track you with their on-board radar independent of the aircraft - this is when they trigger the RWR.
Now… J-11 RWR, similar to Su-27 RWR doesn’t see directly above and below the aircraft, so if you are notching the missile, it is possible you simply place the missile in RWR’s blind spot by either showing back or belly of the aircraft.
There is a relatively easy way to make sure you are not hit by Fox 3 - try to fly below 50m (somewhere between 25-40m) above the ground, preferably above water - your radar signature will reflect from the ground, therefore causing missile to miss.
So u mean when F-14A(IRAF) shot the AIM-54C or Fakour-90 to me,which are the Fox3 missile,my RWR didnt work and i always fly below 30m even 20m and i m still be hit.I mean when the Fox3 missiles fly to me,my RWR cant ‘tell’ me the information about the Missile.
But thx bro can tell me so much
Yes, your RWR will not alert you about those missiles being fired, but once they are close to you (~16km) then you will get a notification about radar lock from the missile itself.
If you fly too low and missile hits the ground, you still can get hit by a shrapnel. AIM-54 and Fakour have relatively big explosives load, which makes them effective even if they don’t directly hit you. I admit, it’s a hard nut to crack on avoiding them.
With them, you can try combination of notching (missile, not the airplane), chaffing at intervals and maneuvering, as if my memory doesn’t fail me, they have relatively low G overloads.
Sorry, maybe my expression is not clear.
The situation is when u flying, ur RWR didnt work.
It doesnt even have any sound or missile warning.Your aircraft were suddenly damaged and the judged to be shot down.
Show us a replay or video clip of this happening and maybe we will be able to help you further.
