I’m not sure if this should go here or in the ‘Skins’ section, but seing as this is not a request for a specific skin or camo I thought it’d fit better here. If I’m wrong on this, please let me know.
This is a problem that’s been bothering me for a while, that could be easily and quickly fixed with a small QoL change regarding the camo selection. I find it a bit anoying when you’ve just unlocked a nice, brand new shiny camo, that you then spend time on decorating with decals and such hoping to show off your efforts in battle, only for next match to automatically change your camo back to the default one. This is especially anoying with vehicles that have a lot of camos, or relatively ugly camos that get autclassed by newer ones.
I’ll use the Tiger E as en example here. I love the Hinterhalt-Tarnung camo, and I want to use it on most maps, apart from desert and snow maps where I’d like to use their respective camos. To do this I have to manually set the camo for each battle every single time, wich you very easily forget resulting in it changing back to the default desert camo, even on maps like advance to the rine and others where you now stick out like a sore thumb. I now have ‘Automatic camouflage in battle’ turned off with the Hinterhalt-Tarnung camo selected, but if I want to change my camo to the winter one for a snow map for instance, this resets and next battle I’m stuck with the desert camo in Seversk again.
My suggestion is the abilty to set any of your unlocked camos as your ‘Standard’ one, so that on any map you don’t have the camo for (or have that camo excluded from selection) it’ll automatically select the camo you yourself set as the default one. So now I can select my Hinterhalt-Tarnung camo as the standard one, meaning that on any map this camo will be selected, apart from on snow and desert maps where their respective camos will automatically be selected. This would also very easily allow the first default camo you get to be excluded from selection once you’ve unlocked more, which you can’t do now. UI wise this could be done very easily, just by placing a switch similar to the ‘Automatic camouflage in battle’ one, or just a checkbox for instance.
Overall this would be a very small, but in my opinion very nice and effective QoL change that would encourage customization more as well, but let me know what you think!
